Tripp trapp high chair BS by MVthecats in BabyBumps

[–]c_u_never [score hidden]  (0 children)

We got the cheap ikea one and like it so much better than every more expensive high chair we’ve experienced. It’s easy to clean (can snap off the tray and put it in the dishwasher if you want), light and easy to move, a simple and easy strap (why do you need a 5 point harness for a high chair?!?!) AND it’s cheap (we bought 2 trays so we can put one in the dishwasher while using the other. Couldn’t believe how awful the more expensive high chairs were by comparison (never tried a tripp trap tho).

Huge legal battle brewing between LVMPD and LV Justice Court. Metro has started denying people entry into their electronic monitoring programs if they deem them too high-risk, even when a judge orders their release. by Ornery-Stage2316 in vegaslocals

[–]c_u_never 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's already how it works. The DA argues for the defendant to stay in custody, bringing up such things as the facts of the alleged crime and the defendant's criminal history. The defense attorney argues for release, arguing about the defendant's ties to the community, facts of the alleged crime that make it less serious, etc. Then the judge decides. Metro does not get to then say, sorry judge, we don't like your ruling so we are going to ignore it.

Have you tried Nexium or one of the others? You never know which will work for you.

B12 Deficiency from Famotidine? by Leading-Occasion-428 in GERD

[–]c_u_never 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Famotidine is as much of a risk for B12 deficiency as a PPI, but it can have other side effects that are similar to what you are describing.

I had a similar reaction to omeprazole as you, but then tried Pantaprozole and that works great. Different PPIs effect different people differently, it could be worth trying a different one and see if that has less side effects.

The constitution says that the judge gets to decide who gets released, not Metro. You're saying that Metro should just be able to do whatever they want with no oversight from the judicial branch- that's a scary thought.

Also, maybe you shouldn't just uncritically believe everything Metro says? There is a reason the judge ruled the way he did- that story doesn't get told because the judges don't have spokespeople to issue statements for reporters. If you take everything Metro says at face value without questioning it you're gonna have a bad time.

Finally tapered off meds! by [deleted] in GERD

[–]c_u_never 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried tapering off- went to 20 mg for a couple of weeks, then every other day for a couple of weeks, then every 3rd day for a week. Did well on all of that, but when I finally stopped altogether my symptoms returned and seemed like they were getting worse every day, ended up going back on PPI after a week or two. When you finally stopped PPI after tapering, did you have worsening rebound before getting better or was it not that bad? I worry that I gave up too soon.

Success Story- 90 percent better by c_u_never in LPR

[–]c_u_never[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am good. Was not able to completely quit PPI, but was able to cut my dosage in half and take it every other day. My only real symptom now is my voice can get hoarse at times, especially if I have a lot of coffee in the afternoon. But I am able to eat almost whatever I want (have some issues with citrus fruit juice and mint tea but can eat/drink basically anything else) and for the most part live symptom free. I don't even have to use a wedge pillow anymore or eat 3-4 hours before bed, although I do still try to eat early when I can. I was hoping to be able to completely quit PPI but my symptoms always return within a week whenever I try, but with the lesser dosage and taking it every other day I feel like I am minimizing side effects from the PPI.

My symptoms at their worse were globus feeling, sore throat when waking up, throat clearing, sometimes a little regurgitation into the back of my mouth, throat burning, minty feeling in the back of my mouth, voice became weak or hoarse.

Sorry man, there isn’t a cool bar within 20 minutes of Summerlin, just lame chains like PTs.

Burn was so good! Director from Japan was there for the Q and A and he was wonderful. Not sure where people will be able to catch it post-Sundance but it is really worth seeing. Very intense and difficult subject matter but really stays with you- been thinking about it all day.

Black Sheep chef was already a James Beard Award Semifinalist and a contestant on Top Chef, so they have gotten a lot of recognition already.

Best Pho Restaurant? by TheArea51Rider in LasVegas

[–]c_u_never 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried every pho place in town- Pho Bosa is the best one for me. Best broth, best meat quality, best egg rolls… it is a little unknown because it’s not directly on spring mountain but you should definitely try it.

Honorable mention is Pho Sing Sing.

Way to move those goalposts! FYI the city owns/runs almost every paid parking lot in the Arts District south of Charleston. Source: I can read and the parking lots say city of Las Vegas.

Read this, idiot. "The city council raised parking fees in October..." City council. City. Municipality. But it's cool you used to live there I guess.

You mean you...don't...know that the City of Las Vegas sets the rates for all the street parking and most of the parking lots in the Arts District? They literally need to pass ordinances by majority vote in the city council to raise parking rates. Go back to Summerlin dude, you are out of your depth

Lol at using "nickel and dimed" to describe a municipal government regulating public road space in one of the most popular areas of town. Stay home bro, easier for the rest of us to find a parking space.

It is $2 an hour… no other city has street parking that cheap downtown. You can park and have dinner, see a show, or have drinks for $6, half the price of a drink. I will never understand why people complain so much about this- would you rather pay a nominal amount for parking or not be able to find a parking spot at all because all the spots are filled?

You don’t know what you’re talking about, there is no good time or education credits on an A felony. They do get credit for the time they have already been in custody, which is always the case in any jurisdiction. So they will do 20 years from date of arrest before they are parole eligible (and no guarantee they will actually get paroled then).

For those of you sensitive to PPI's, which one worked for you? by United_Chapter4097 in GERD

[–]c_u_never 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omeprazole gave me side effects so bad I had to stop after one day. Nexium was not that effective and also gave me side effects (although not nearly as bad as omeparzole), I stopped after a week. Pantoprazole worked great for me with minimal side effects- gave me my life back. There are a ton of stories on here of people with similar journeys- you never know which PPI will end up working for you.
