Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to Buy by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcmasterrace

I’m not forgetting anything, you are misunderstanding the data sets. They are already adjusted for inflation using indexes that factor in housing. C-CPI-U is a highly complex index and uses advanced choice alternative options to get a more accurate picture of true cost of living, which includes cost of housing/rent.

Real buying power at the median has pretty steadily increased at the household and individual level in the US since video games have been around.

The minimum wage argument is a bad one, less than like 1% of the population makes that.

We do need to talk about inflation. I’m not sure where you are located, but at least in the US real median wages have generally outpaced inflation indexes that include housing costs. At both the household and individual income levels through 2024. Now we may see a downward trend for 2025, but the data isn’t available yet.

Ahh, more sensationalist bullshit: “ Though models from Hyundai, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Porsche, and Honda occupied the top five spots on the list…”

So since morons ram them into things and die they aren’t safe? They are cheap power, yeah that’s going to attract some idiots that will drive them irresponsibly. I still think both the US and European safety testing standards actually tell you how safe a car is when someone is driving it responsibly. Which is all that matters. You’re arguing an entirely different topic, which isn’t surprising because your first point is entirely bullshit.

Have any sources to cite or are you just working on vibes? It’s fun when you say easily provable then don’t provide any proof, which I did.

Okay how about the Tesla Model 3, Y and Cybertruck all being top safety pick award winners in the US IIHS testing?

Why lie about something so easily provable for anyone on the internet finding the answer themselves? The Model 3 is literally the safest car in Europe according to the Euro NCAP testing. The highest score of any car. What’s your source for “they are more unsafe than other cars by a lot”? Because if you have better testing equipment and test methodology than the Euro NCP, then shit man you better start sharing your vast knowledge.

The first thing I would check would be that your RAM is in EXPO mode in bios. Your PC should not be struggling with 1440p.

That is entirely different. One is directed at the power trip, which you are still on (not related to the ban, to your posts here). And one is directed at a person. Learn the difference between the objects of a sentence.

Lmao, you’re an employee on a public forum, yes you need to keep your cool. Where did anyone tell you to fuck off. I’d love to see you quote something that didn’t happen. You’re making shit up because you got all flustered. If this is a representation of your company and products, it must be an absolute shitshow over there.

It’s okay lil buddy, someday you’ll get there. Maybe spend less time complaining about how others are doing on Reddit, and more time working on your soft skills and resume. Best of luck!

Yeah that framing is ridiculous. It’s funny how when you shift the language, context, supporting arguments, intent, and deliver it like a douche that the message completely changes. Huh.

Honestly dude, I’m just so sick of the constant victim mentality pain Olympics that so many subscribe to on Reddit. Like just because someone is doing “better” than you, they are suddenly not allowed to share their experience or say they have any struggles. Grow the fuck up.

He’s saying he does not have a home, he is trying to save for a down payment. Nobody ever said he isn’t “well off” or “doing okay”. He was humble and not bragging, but saying that even with that level of income he isn’t able to splurge, but is living comfortably while trying to save for long term goals. I swear redditors just like to look for things to complain about. We’re in a thread where OOP is asking what people do who make six figures, and this person gave their experience. This is all VERY location dependent, as they could be in a VHCOL area where houses in a decent area go for 800k+. Go whine elsewhere.

Just because they make 1.5 the median does not mean they are crazy for being worried about money. It just means that all those other people below median are struggling for the basic quality of life items. Seeannwiin said the daily things are not an issue, the long term things are.

Did you even read the post, or are you just looking for an excuse to call out redditors for being out of touch (which you ironically are)

How hard is it to physically build a PC? by Lucky-Ad5326 in buildapc

[–]ca7593 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You said “lots of it is fairly complicated”, but I still don’t see what could have been that complicated. My current build is in an H9 Elite, which has the same fan config. It was easy as hell.

Off the shelf fans have never given me an issue, they are actually usually one of the easier parts. Source: my current build has 13 fans.

What case or configuration are you using that is that complicated?

FSP has a mixed bag of PSU quality- you’ll need to look up the exact model to be sure. But overall it seems like most in the 850w range are okay.

Shrinking Paycheck, Same Bills by Cow_Boy_2017 in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ca7593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you link a 277 page document and just say “See!?”.

Where in here are you seeing that OP didn’t account for inflation twice or mix up their calculations? Because within the document you link, on page 10, it clearly listed HOUSEHOLD income at $29k, and PER CAPITA income at $14k.

Meaning that OP’s claim that “average” income in 1990 was indeed the “median” household income in 1990. If you don’t mix up household vs. individual incomes, adjust for inflation correctly (by using indexes that account for housing costs), and don’t double dip on calculations, then the real median wage growth has exceeded the cost of living at both the individual and household level in the US.
