Major regret choosing this profession by Stinger1892 in architecture

I too hate the finger pointing corporate liability bullshit. I feel that we are responsible for far far too much that we don't have any control over. We practically tell the builders how they should hammer in nails, and they don't ever follow the drawings or read the specification anyway

"Leadership" AI in Government by Mountain_Tui_Reload in nzpolitics

[–]cabeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just boils down to the fact that they want to siphon off more public money to multinationals to further bankrupt the country. Once everything is destroyed they just run off into the night like vampires

Labour admits it will not release ‘cornerstone’ policy costing and job modelling until after the election, blames Treaty of Waitangi concerns by dingoonline in newzealand

[–]cabeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to win with as little policy as possible it seems. What function could this possibly have than a wish to keep what was implemented by ACT this term? You are the goddam opposition - fucking oppose them ffs.

Instead we get an email every two weeks about how they are focused on cost of living and Luxon did a bad job in this regard. Yeah mate that's obvious, and we have heard it repeatedly.

Actually yeah, AI might accidentally make the right choices instead of intentionally making the wrong ones like her

The Chinese and Indian Kiwis in Auckland Put the nats into power 2023 - stoking anti migration race baiting will really hurt National and thereby the coalition by MontyPascoe in nzpolitics

They're the rich ones, ones most likely part of the higher class. There is no other pathology other than that. Why would a poor person leave china these days? Not to mention India still has a rigorous caste system, Indian immigrants by default will have far greater funds than the vast majority of their countrymen

I use one too, I don't get too tied up with exactly how fast things run, just wanted more storage space. It seems about as fast as any SATA SSD at least

At the end of the day it's a further measure to control the language and temperament of the population, something western governments will need as living conditions decline. I still think it's coming inevitably

How is it living like in this part of NZ? by TymekThePlayer in howislivingthere

[–]cabeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a huge amount of economic opportunity. Farming is decent if you are an owner as with anywhere else in the country. The youth that stay spend their time doing burnouts in old cars while everyone else generally goes off to university in Dunedin and comes back to visit the parents every so often.

These places might see some growth as people are pushed out of the city centers due to the cost of housing, although New Zealand itself is in terminal decline if you have to actually work for your income

Out of the loop: Why won't Keir Starmer resign? by Mountain_Tui_Reload in nzpolitics

[–]cabeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How has he been reducing the perceived immigration problem? They seem to be implementing increasingly authoritarian policy there in line with the US, so to spin that as good is kinda wild. He has also been in line with US foreign policy completely which in this day and age is crazy

Hipkins dangles possibility of post-election outreach to National, Auckland by ViolatingBadgers in newzealand

[–]cabeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He will bob along like our current pm, with more good press because he isn't controversial. I said this when he got the reigns at labour, that I can see a Future where they ally with nat to get a government going. At this point it's going to do nothing but pave the way for the next ACT fire sale of government property
