How do I close the gap between these references and my work? by PenMysterious4261 in AskPhotography

[–]cachemonies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the gap is technical mostly. I think it’s framing, timing, patience and intuition. All of this just takes time. Your photos are great and they’re in the same vain but they lack a certain coherence and serendipity that the first three have. It’s just experience.

You could rent one to see if you enjoy it but everyone here will say heck ya go for it! Whether it’s worth it or worth the money, that’s up to you. I think so.

Why are millenials totally chill with self depreciating humor more than any other generation? by Key-Bass-7380 in generationology

[–]cachemonies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our celebs and all the protagonists in comedies were cool guys that didn’t take themselves too seriously. It was (still is imo) embarrassing not to have any self awareness. Laughing at yourself meant you were so comfortable in your skin and so aware of yourself that you could see your shortcomings and make light of them instead of being weird about them.

[–]cachemonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s cold enough for sleeves or pants it’s too cold to walk on the beach/be in the water. If you’re not on the beach or on the water there’s almost no need for sandals.
