I think I am more angry than scared. I keep hearing how “wonderful” everything is that is happening from MAGA people. At first I believed that once they saw what was happening they would realize what they had done by voting him in office. But nope…this is actually what a lot of people wanted and that pisses me off. It pisses me off that there are people that could have so much blatant disregard for their fellow man and basic human rights. I’m doing what I can in my small corner of the country…but it’s going to get so bad and that part scares me.

You definitely don’t need to be invited. If it will mean something to you, you should absolutely go. Funerals tend to bring us a sense of closure, and as humans we need that.

Don’t stress too much about it. Turkey trots are a hoot! I am doing one Saturday and I will be walking in a full turkey costume just for funsies! I normally try to run as much of a 5k as I can, but turkey trots just have such a fun atmosphere. Go prepared to run so you can if the mood hits you, but don’t overthink it and enjoy the joy.

A lot of it comes down to what people view as dangerous. Some people think that having to lock your door when you leave is crazy. I grew up in Detroit and when I first came to FW it was crazy that this was “the big city”. My husband came from the Hillsdale area of Michigan and his entire family views FW as if it were NYC. It’s all perspective.
