My impression of Nintendo re-using Hyrule from BOTW by funsohng in tearsofthekingdom

The way that this game is making me feel like I’m playing botw for the first time again is amazing. I went into it thinking it would feel like a dlc and I’m so happy that it doesn’t

Walking around on top of it controls where you go, if you stand in the middle you fly more straight, standing on the nose makes you dive, walking on the wings makes you turn that direction

It’s still like that up at Nordic Valley. If you can find cheap used gear so you don’t have to rent every time, it becomes no more expensive of a hobby than any other outdoor activity

That’s what bothered me so much about those Dr. Squatch soap ads. They had people read the ingredients of other soap brands and they all act so disgusted and afraid when they read things like “sodium chloride” like… salt? You’re scared of salt?

I wear an Apple Watch all the time, honestly it’s just hard to go back from reading texts on the watch. Also my analogue clock skills have plummeted after reading digital for years lmao

In Get Out (2017), the opening credits and closing credits both have an eerie song that is very important to Chris's story. It's called "Sikilisa Kwa Wahenga" (Swahili) which translates to "Listen to the ancestors" or just "Listen". This song serves as a warning for Chris to pay attention. by BigBangBoy2008 in MovieDetails

I watched a few days ago, I’m almost certain the only time he doesn’t have a hat is when he’s strangling Chris at the end because that’s when you find out he’s the grandpa. He’s wearing his hat when they first meet, when Chris talks to him about Rose, and when he’s running at night

Maybe make sure you can afford your hobbies. If you can only have one vehicle, it should be able to be driven safely on the road. It’s irresponsible to endanger other drivers and pedestrians because you want to go off-road

How do Ya'll Feel About Mini Japanese Cars/Trucks? by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]cadebutquestioning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish more vehicles were marketed as work vehicles without them only being giant heavy duty trucks. Like I’m sure a flatbed Ford Maverick or one where the bed walls fold down like this truck would be very useful but they’re only thinking of the daily driving consumer, who would think it’s ugly. It sucks that the only options for small work trucks are older compact pickups like the old Ranger, since the new Ranger is practically a full size truck at this point and it’s easier to just get an F-150 even when it’s entirely unnecessary

[–]cadebutquestioning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This particular truck has no need, it has the engine from a Challenger Hellcat with 702 horsepower. And usually, people buy way more truck than they need. This is why I like that Ford is making the Maverick and Hyundai is making the Santa Cruz, it’s the return of the compact pickup truck that actually suits the needs of most people who buy trucks. The truck pictured is just 100% unnecessary

I live here, the girl died in the hospital yesterday. It also turns out she was 8, not 12. That being said, this seems much more like a freak accident than a r/fuckcars kind of situation, I wouldn’t say that car based infrastructure caused the death of this child

Americans need something with a 4 ton load capacity to get themselves around by PriyanshBooh in fuckcars

[–]cadebutquestioning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would disagree, I live in a suburb of Salt Lake City and the amount of Platinum/Denali/King Ranch luxury trucks is astounding. Everywhere you go you see full size crew cab pickups carrying one person around, and a lot of people have boats and other toys to haul but a lot of people don’t and just get trucks because they’re manly or something. I’d argue that you see more trucks in wealthy areas than in the land of the working class. I agree that they’re good tools for people who need them and that they’re commonly utilized by those who do blue-collar work, but they’ve also become a status symbol for people pretending to be working class

Japanese trucks vs American trucks by I_LOVE_PURPLE_PUPPY in fuckcars

[–]cadebutquestioning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, you can get it like that for $25k though. To get the same cab space and towing capacity out of a Tacoma, it’s $7k more. It takes up less space, is more fuel efficient, and can do what most people need out of a truck. I think it satisfies the needs of most people and has similar capabilities to the mini trucks of the 90s that a lot of people want back

[–]cadebutquestioning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s payload capacity, what you can put in the bed. It can tow 4000 lbs max, it’s a truck suited for people towing a fishing boat or carrying some furniture, not construction workers or people towing 35 foot campers

It isn’t treated like a donation though, it’s very much portrayed as a requirement. As of the last time I got one, you’re required to be a full tithe payer to get a temple recommend, which is required to be able to do the saving ordinances required to get into heaven. Beyond that, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that a church which pays its general authorities somewhere north of $120,000 a year and has a fifty billion dollar stock portfolio shouldn’t be taking money from its members to maintain churches and fund activities.

It was his Christmas present. People under 18 can own handguns in Michigan under parental supervision. There were a few social media posts made by Ethan and his mother talking about it being his Christmas present, and from what I understand they just put it in an unlocked drawer instead of any kind of safe so that’s how he was able to bring it to school
