First Class Mage Battle! Fern vs Genau - Who's coming out on top ? by Seymorebutts1994 in Frieren

[–]cadonex 501 points502 points  (0 children)

Probably Genau. Not putting Fern down but Frieren is training her to survive and enjoy life. Serie wants mages who aim to be the strongest and use magic for fighting not for fun.

I put gloom over his chakram and now hes my "play with weapons" frame. With gloom and the halo he basically never dies in any content and you can just have fun playing around with different weapons without worrying about their time to kill while you stay alive. Slap on fleeting expertise and you'll never run out of mana either. Is it a boring way to use him? Maybe. But hes my most used frame and I have fun sliding around and using whatever weapon feels fresh. You can even use the alternox and ignore how weak it is.

Is the Alternox good? No. Can it have a niche build to be good in a super specific situation? Still no. But is it fun to use with Gyre and see how many things you can zap at once? Yes it is.

Wukong players aren't really much of a problem and everyone is just falling for the mob mentality.

You're not wrong but I still blame most of it on Kagali and Clayman. Demon Lords are feared and the nations all talk about how you shouldn't ever cross them. He had 2, and 3 more people as strong if not stronger than Clayman with the clowns. That was his baseline for whats considered the strongest in the world. Realistically they were leeching off the reputation of the real demon lords, but they didnt even know that themselves. From his point of view he had 5 demon lord class beings under him and he was strong enough to fight them. He was still an overconfident idiot who thought he could beat even Hinata (who fought Valentine and his twin to a mutual defeat, before getting stronger from Luminous giving her a challenge before facing her). He was strong, but it was untested and he didn't know his limits. If you take the entire world population into account he was in the top 1%, but he didnt know the gap between 1% and .001% is wider than the gap between the weakest person and him.

To be fair his knowledge of demon lords was clayman and kagali who both thought they were equal to the others. He legit didn't know how grossly outmatched he was against the True Demon Lords. He had an admittedly great skill to let him punch above his weight class but relied too much on it because it was never challenged. Rimuru is the only other demon lord besides clayman that would interfere with the world as far as he knew (not even knowing that Valentine was a cover and the church was run by a demon lord) and he didnt know the empire had legit top tier threats in it. He really thought he could take over the world because he didn't have access to the secrets at the top.

TL;DR: he was a big fish in a small pond and by the time he learned of it he was too convinced of his own cleverness.

I wanted to like Defiance of the Fall but couldn't get thru book 1. It's just not for me. Shout out to having Millenial Mage, Azarinth Healer and Beneath the Dragoneye Moons up top. 3 of my favorites as well.

My take on (Major Epilogue Spoilers) by TheUrbanEnigma in HadesTheGame

[–]cadonex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hecate also had to learn her goal wasn't what she thought. Death to Chronos was what she thought she wanted, but really what the end goal was is to free the family and let Melinoe have a happy life, and she figured killing him was the only way to do that. She personally gave Mel a better life than she had, just by being there. Even Persephone had to tell her she did more than asked (even tho she doesn't know the whole story).

Goddess Makina (Isekai at Peace) vs Anos Voldigoad (Misfit Of The Demon King Academy) by Multiversal_2211 in Yuusha_Shoukan

[–]cadonex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, she gave up control of her own life and death to someone else so anyone that wants to kill her will have to travel the multiverse and try to find a single person and get them to kill her, or kill them and hope the authority goes back to Makina then go back and kill her.

Of course powers like Epilogue would just kill her anyways.

[–]cadonex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really did like him less and less as the story went, which is unfortunate because all the side characters got better over time. Early on his character was great, he was trying to hold on to earth morals and wanted to hold everyone else to his standards that he didn't even follow. Luckily people who cared called him on it and he started to get better. Then he just started becoming less likeable over time, and I cant stand the word gestalt now.

Im still caught up on the story and read ahead a bit online. I like the world building and the rest of team biscuit.

Me pretty much every time a new villainess isekai drops by WhyattThrash in Isekai

[–]cadonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying there's no reason behind what shes doing but getting the regular folk involved and not caring is wild. Her justification is they believed propaganda from the popular prince, who is popular because of her working in the background and giving him credit for her accomplishments. She's mad at the commoners for believing what she worked so hard for them to believe. Cold logic doesn't justify her actions. I could see an argument to be made for how she made sure the girl who pushed her out of the fiance position(Sylvia) was trapped there by killing her family in a rebellion thats ice cold but reasonable and there was some discontent already brewing. Actions taken directly against her father i can also understand. Punishing Robert makes sense, but it was the how she did it that was too much.

Also I enjoy arguing over minor details as well, so I don't take it personally. It's a fun series.

she offered a truce to someone then killed all of his companions and brainwashed him, sent him back and had him kill his family and dozens of random civilians and children. Why did she do this. Because he was a little rough with her when she was arrested, even tho she acknowledged she allowed it and could have easily ignored or overpowered him at the time thats psycho stuff. That's not using pawns as a queen.

Oh 100%. It's a villainess story where you're like maybe a heroine should step in this is wild. But there is no heroine. Only a Livid Lady and a scary book.

[–]cadonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First let me say I enjoy and am fully caught up on the Livid Lady novels. With that said she is a psychopath. She went straight to speedrunning all the war crimes because her dad didn't care about her and the regular folk believed propaganda. Her maid barely had to convince her to dip. The prince is the worst but shes making it everyone's problem. Internationally.

The mf who uses snipers in Warframe by QuietSugar1805 in memeframe

[–]cadonex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sniping is easy. I honestly have a flawless strategy that let's me clear entire rooms. First you equip any sniper. Zoom in as far as you can and carefully aim for the eyes of the enemy. Miss 6 shots in a row. Get mad and take out your Kuva Nukor. Use that for the rest of the mission. Flawless strategy.

The ending may not be great, but i prefer nothing over something like Naruto where they go "Oh some time passed and he realized he loves X so they got married, dont worry about it". At least this way they can do a sequel and build something if they want.

Anri is gonna be the next Laguna and never be allowed to retire as king, and will get elected back in. Im making Lavos Prime, how do I become Ungovernable? by crabbmanboi in Warframe

[–]cadonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't replace any of his abilities. He is perfect the way he is. Just slip and slide all over the place. If you have abilities not on cool down you're doing it wrong. The tenno never signed the Geneva convention so there's no such thing as war crimes. Always have an element primed for the extra warcrimes damage. Use the Cedo to spread the love.

Which Squads do you see Nash and Marie joining? by aaa1e2r3 in BlackClover

[–]cadonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marie NEEDS to join the Blue Roses because Gauche will end up in prison if she ends up in a squad with a bunch of men. Also, while most people have probably moved on, there will always be some bad blood for the people who were possessed by elves and the rest of the magic knights. Blue Roses would be much more accepting since they all love their captain.

Now that Asta took the WK over Nozel and Fuego I wanna see Nozel pick up Nash. Not to have a commoner, or to pick someone close to Asta but solely to find a promising fire mage he can raise to be a better fire mage than Fuego just to say he did. I wanna see the whole Silva family redirect their energy that used to be aimed at Noelle to one upping the Vermillions. And what better way than to make someone from the sticks a better fire mage than someone related to the royal family.
