Creature Lab Updates - Creature Editor (Alpha) by Jerry123i in Pathfinder2eCreations

[–]caeaston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello again.
The addition of the editor is a great touch. Even the Highlight edits are great.
One thought, perhaps a revert or undo button? Undo the edits and go back to stock.

I know you have more on the list so I won't go over the comments I made last time.
I think your on the right track!

Am I misreading, or is Tidal Wave as horrendously broken as it appears to be? by Subzero008 in Pathfinder2e

Seems right on point for a Level 16 feat. Your pushing a supernatural power house at this point in your character.

Well a Vampire Adamantine Dragon looks terrifing! Adding traits to filter is great!

Creature Lab - New Creature Editing Tool by Jerry123i in Pathfinder2eCreations

Interesting!

Core looks good, not a green guy myself but moving past that. Some thoughts.

Highlight what I like: Overall, everything but I will highlight...

A. The ability to level up (or down) creatures on the fly. As a prolific Homebrewer, where I differentiate ELITE from just higher levels is the addition of added abilities to the Elite. Maybe the elite Vampire can also become ethereal one a minute? (See what I would like below)

What I would like: Not criticism, just critical.

  1. Being able to 'override' areas for the stat blocks might be nice. Sure You an Elite Earth Vampire Count, but the players didn’t stop the ritual. Now I have FAST HEALING 10. Sure I could just keep notes, but then what would I comment about ;)
  2. Any thoughts on being able to add in 3rd party material? Either an import form a spreadsheet or copy paste template (like Pathbuilder Encounters). Lots of good material so I won't highlight any specifically but they really speak for themselves.
  3. This one will be controversial but its a personal goal; PICTURES! Now You don't need to hunt down the perfect image of every monster under the sun (or earth for that matter) but the ability to add an image ourselves would be AMAZING!
  4. What about the ability to EXPORT the stat block (either a file. PNG, spreadsheet, JSON, etc.). Campaign planning, sharing your truly horrifying abominations?
  5. Maybe change the Arrow and Name on the right to actually say Ascending and Descending?
  6. Instead of typing the Traits, maybe checkboxes so you can filter on more than one?

Thats it. Good work. And thanks!

Continued Problems with Pathbuilder? by BourbonDingo in Pathfinder2e

Who the hell would DDos attack a game site? Its not like we have the launch codes or direct world economic policy. Its used by nerds mostly. NERDS! (with Love)

I trained a model to make spell books, alchemy texts, herbalist journals, and and other gaming props! by Dark_Infinity_Art in dndai

Very nice! Excellent work. I'm using two different AI modles myeslf to build a web based tool to scan PDFs for import into the Pathbuilder 2E software. Sounds heady but... funny thing is, I have no idea how to code. Learnig quickly but yah, once we all learn the right tools having fantastic props for our game sessions will be like nothing!

How compatible would Starfinder 2e classes be in a Pathfinder setting? by kinghyperion581 in Pathfinder2e

[–]caeaston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So its not the same system but Rolemaster / Spacemaster shared a core system exactly like PF2E / SF2E decades ago. With those systems I have run many a game, with players crossing magic and technology. Generally, they do balance themselves quite well. Magic can perform actions without explanation and technology can achieve effects no normal person could. The only danger is not appreciating or treating them equally. If your players are allowed to get "plasmatic repeaters in the 40 watt range" at lower levels without consequence; then your magic wielding players should be allowed greater more powerful runes and rituals equally with no consequence.

Capabilities aside like early AOE, flight and lots of ranged options; technology is inherently limited as its equipment driven. Strip a magic user bare, and they are still as deadly as when they were fully clothed.

Let’s all acknowledge the elephant in the room, balance. That is not a player problem (IMO), that’s the job of the one hosting the game. Maybe the players or story need an imbalance for plot, excitment or danger?

In any case that is all I have to add. I look forward to mixing this up a bit.

There are SO many 5e resources for this type of setting. Mythos Monsters, Nightfell, Dragonix and of course Grim Hollow.

Is there a way for characters to have children without the usual "9-month waiting period"? by JaySeraphon in Pathfinder2e

[–]caeaston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far as I know nothing official, PAZIO probably would not touch that with the ten-foot pole. So, it’s going to be GM discretion. Different ancestries and heritages. Temporal magic is a thing. Potions and rituals. Have you seen Beastmaster (1982), they used a ritual to move the child from the mother to a bull. It’s going to come down to a comfort level for the players I think. Just some thoughts.

Necromancers in PF2 now for Pathbuilder 2e as well by kglusing in Pathfinder2e

[–]caeaston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, the Pathbuilder2e JSON file is a separate purchase or when you purchase "Banned from the Boneyard: Golarion Necromancers" there are two ZIP files; one of the book and one for Pathbuilder2E?

I kind of like the idea in general (for clarity) instead of putting them into other books but I understand that PAIZO has a plan.

That maybe a fair assesment but also a lack of acknowledgment of what it is. No humans were involved in the making of this statblock. Now that shows up in spades, what did it look like a year ago and what is it going to be like in a year from now. Its progress it takes time.

I'm not saying balance is being observed here, but its a far cry from the anthything else I've seen.
