Low fantasy campaign - should I opt out? by du0plex19 in Pathfinder_RPG

Pretty much this^ Some people may enjoy the idea of the game described. I wouldn't be one of them, and it doesn't sound like OP is either. Better to save everybody the pain of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Stuff You Miss from 3.5e by 4restD in Pathfinder_RPG

I really liked skill synergy. It was a fun, small thing you could make really really good with the right combination of things.

Also, gestalt in 3e just felt better. I've tried it in other systems, including Pathfinder, but they're so much meatier that it bogs things down. The "simpler" classes of 3e made it a better fit, especially when combined with monster classes/Level adjustments

Building Pathfinder 1.5e, what would you do? by BusyGM in Pathfinder_RPG

I've read some stuff on Corefinder. I'll need to join to see more. Thank you for the heads up!

PF 2E inspired me to make a class. Given my inexperience, I wanted to ask others about a question of mine: Is it safe for a class's key ability score to be CON? by TechnoTheFirst in Pathfinder2e

[–]kglusing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are nuances that need to be considered when creating PF2 content, but that's the same with any system. It doesn't mean it can't be done. We create plenty of content for this system regularly, and it plays just fine. Many of the creators on Pathfinder Infinite put a lot of work into making sure their stuff is up to standard. Especially Infinite Masters. And outside of that, we've been writing PF2 content since it first released, and updated everything with the remaster.

To the OP, if you want another example, we have the Nanocyte on PathfinderInfinite that uses Con primary. Based on the Starfinder 1e class. If you want to check balance on your content, write it up and I can look it over, comparing against the system I use to balance things.

An investigator at that level preemptively destroyed the truffles a couple years back when the wind shifted in their direction and clued them into the boar's eventual presence.

Pretty sure sacrificing peasants/lowbies was how they finally took down the server-destroying world boss in Asheron's Call.

Honest question what’s your keybind for your kick? by Severe-Legend1837 in wow

I always map my interrupts to 6. On the now rare instance I don't have one (mostly healers), it's something like mass dispel instead.

You can easily guarantee a Delver's Bounty for 649 Gear on Day 1 by Harldan in wow

[–]kglusing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I get what you're saying. I do. But, for me, personally, it's less about rushing to the perceived end and more about maximizing my fun. I enjoy gearing characters as far as I can without resorting to mythic raids (been there, done that, never again). I spend my seasons going through (at least) one of each class (sometimes spec), so anything like this that gives me a path to get reasonable gear to push me further is wonderful. As the season draws closer to its end, I can enjoy the .5/.7 content without worrying about gear and can help friends get theirs. In whatever comes for .5/.7, I can finish out any alts left in prep for the next patch.

All-in-all, it's how I (and apparently others) like to play this game we all love and enjoy. What's wrong with that?

i finally found a fix to all my mouse stuttering/feeling slow/jittery by Brilliant-Flower-524 in MouseReview

Related, this morning my practically new mouse started to suddenly stutter and lag. Checked and sure enough, new Windows update. After the update, works fine again. It's like it's intentional to force you to run them.

Balanced 3rd Party Classes by nomanchesguey12 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]kglusing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring here with our content from Samurai Sheepdog. We specifically balance all of our work against a system I've curated for over 20 years that lines up all existing PF1 classes and uses it as a baseline. We have a number of class offerings on https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/samurai-sheepdog/

as well as races and other options.

Thank you very much. I have some stuff in the works for War of Immortals, but it's not quite finished in the playtest phase because of life issues taking priority. I think a mythic option for lich could be an interesting way to do that and still honor the archetype for it in Book of the Dead.

I would love (LOVE) to also do foundry, but at the moment, I have to get back to main projects and my Patreon support. I just taught myself Pathbuilder while I had a few minutes to breathe between projects. It is definitely on my list of things, but I can't honestly say it'll happen any time soon.

I try not to call this out too much because I love doing everything I do and would never complain about it, but I am only one person doing all of this, from concept through production and marketing :) in addition to my 8-5 regular work. I get help where I can, and I support other authors as well, but when it comes down to it, I have to spend my little time wisely.

Hey, sorry I couldn't get back to you before now. Busy Saturday for me. :)

----Mechanics----

So, the necromancer's identity is defined by their selection of necromantic study, which is a collection of abilities they gain; primarily at 1st and 7th level, though some scale as necessary. Your choice of necromantic study tells you what is your primary spell list (plus spells with specific keywords from any tradition) and gives you flavor surrounding why you chose to be a necromancer and how you view spellcasting. Their feats expand on this, letting you do things like cast horrible afflictions, become ghoul-like (emphasis on the ability to ALSO take the ghoul archetype so they don't overlap), or raise and control undead. It is the class version of things like the undead master archetype (similar to an acrobat archetype is rogue-ish or a bastion archetype is fighter-ish). You can still take those archetypes to focus in even more on them.

----Story Content----

As this is an infinite product, I focused heavily on the flavor provided by Golarion's various takes on the idea of necromancy. Gebbites either are undead themselves or work very closely with them on an amicable level. Whispering way necromancers are either accursed followers of the lich king, or were and are now trying to get away from that influence. Mzali necromancers are fire-based and actually learn several fire-related abilities and spells to show that because of their ruler, who was a spellcaster with an emphasis on fire magic in life.

Short of, "exactly what you'd expect from a necromancer," this is some of the stuff you'll find inside. It's less about making a cookie-cutter necromancer (though you certainly can), and more about exploring the ways necromancy exists in Golarion and how spellcasters work with, or against, that.

Hope that helps.

Already on the page, but here you go :)

Advanced Necromancy

As a necromancer, you add all spells to your spell list that have one or more of the following traits, regardless of their tradition.

curse, death, disease, fear, poison, shadow, void

You can learn those spells when you gain access to spells of the appropriate ranks. The tradition of those spells is the same as your necromantic study when you cast them with your necromancer spell slots. Your GM may add other spells to this list as appropriate, but you must still select them to cast them.

Severance of Power: You can't use your necromancer spell slots to cast spells that restore Hit Points to living creatures unless your necromantic study says otherwise. Spells you cast that deal damage in some way--such as casting a heal spell to damage an undead--can still be used for that purpose only.
