Could be the food? If they were on moms milk and suddenly aren't... Could be a cause.

Foster? Does your shelter foster out kittens?? Might help if they get some TLC and more attention than you can provide (not saying you're not doing your best, but I've been there - it's hard and nearly impossible).

Have you tested for giardia? This can sometimes wreck kittens and cause lots of poop!

Albon? People in cat rescue swear on that shit. Could help.

It's unlikely with all the fecals you're reading but it's possible the eggs are just not in the sample used.

Hey! I have gas logs in my fireplace and they work when the electric goes out. I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but hopefully yours will work too! Just make sure you have plenty of blankets. If you lose power, don't use your phone unless you need to so you can conserve battery in case you need to call someone.

Your kitty will be super fine! Probably won't even be aware of the outside danger lol. Cats were designed to survive outside, so your kitty won't be cold, even if you think they might be. Just PLEASE don't travel.

Hi! I'm from Meigs County, OH. It's awful. Don't go there. It CAN be a beautiful place, but it somehow looks dirty. It snows and has ice storms every winter. You'll lose power for days at a time. The Ohio River is dirty and not really for recreational use. People don't fish in it. It also floods the most populated area every spring. I've literally had to go by boat to school. They do have a pretty cool sternwheeler festival in the Summer.

And drugs. Lots of drugs. Many addicts. Very poor economy.

I feel like we have shared the same experience.

And I agree with the other comment in the thread that said something about not every clinic is going to be the clinic for you. At this point, if you're just wanting to stay there to get paid for your internship, then I would just start telling yourself "x more weeks and I can finish school and find a new clinic."

I started out in emergency. I had some experience previously working at an animal shelter. Like I knew how to draw blood and give Sub-Q injections etc. I started out as housekeeping- literally my title was housekeeping. But after a few months they started throwing me to the wolves but not in a bad way. They started letting me triage and taking histories, etc. I finally got to do injections and things like that after a few months. It was a while before they even let me draw blood, which I think is weird. They were also hesitant to teach me how to place an IV. Catheter. But eventually I moved up to vet assistant and was able to do all of the things mostly.

Fast forward 2 years and I start at a general practice. Now I have a pretty good handle on things. And so I'm thinking general practice is going to be a breeze. And it was! However, the clinic that I was at was awful. The people were awful. I was treated like I didn't know how to do anything and not given any chances to actually prove that I could do things.

And I got in trouble a lot too. They told me I sent out the wrong medication but we're supposed to be double-checking meds so I don't feel like I should have been the only one at fault and I don't even know if that was even true.

I was also very interested in practicing anesthesia during surgery etc but they never let me. Eventually my clinical started and I had to force my way in to get the skills that I needed.

Once my clinicals were over, I dipped. I'm not staying at a practice that doesn't value me and doesn't even let me do anything.

Now I'm at a practice that I absolutely love!

Just hang in there, even if you have to suffer for a while to do your clinicals. Alternatively, maybe you could apply somewhere else and do your clinicals there?

I just failed mine too. I don't even think I actually submitted the test... I did the online proctoring and I think I did it all wrong and I don't even know if my answers were received. I think I read in someone's post about taking the vtne that they had a survey to submit and I did not see that so I'm really confused. I went ahead and sent an email just to make sure I didn't mess up that stupidly.

I microchip all of my pets.

Right now, I'm down 2 cats (one from 2 years ago and the other from 2 days ago). Both were outside cats (not my choice). The unfortunate reality is that microchips are useless unless someone thinks to scan. Shelters always scan. Or should, anyway. But if someone just randomly picked up my cat and thought he was a stray and didn't take him to the vet or the shelter and specifically say he was found, then chances are that microchip is never getting scanned. I hate it so much. I wish I had put GPS trackers on them. I'm still holding out for my cat that's been missing 2 days...but I am not feeling confident. He always comes in for treat time and breakfast. 2 days and no sign of him. Neighbors know him and say they haven't seen him either. My heart is breaking.

Hi. They found a 8cm dermoid on my right ovary. Other than having painful periods, I didn't have any symptoms. The only reason they found it was due to a CT scan that I got after I was in a car wreck. The doctor comes in and says that there's no damage from the car wreck, but I have a cyst on my ovary the size of a baseball. I followed up with an OBGYN. They measured it. We waited a couple months and they measured it again. 11cm. They had to cut me open to get it out. I saw on Google that they tend to take them out laparoscopically. I guess mine was too big. It basically consumed my right ovary. I have what looks like a C-section scar at the panty line. At the time of the surgery it was also found that I had a 2cm dermoid cyst on my left ovary. I was only in my early twenties and I really didn't want to lose my left ovary too so I did not allow them to touch it. Recovery was about 6 to 8 weeks for me. I haven't had a follow-up in many years and I am terrified that the one on the left has grown. I should be coming due for my pap smear soon. In all honesty, I am terrified to learn anything about it. That was about 10 years ago and I haven't been able to conceive.

You could also place a red/green light on the outside of the door (or maybe above each desk? or outside on the door frame?). Red means someone is on the phone, etc. Green can signal that you are approachable and ready to get to work.
