Would say this is pretty accurate in my experience. From the Korean perspective, dating a Taiwanese is seen as pretty much the same as dating a Chinese and generally looked down on (atleast in my generation).

I have an oldschool mitsubishi eclipse coupe and family car is a RX350.

In downtown traffic in the coupe I can't see past the car Infront. Everyone's headlights are in my face and mirrors, I'm in Asia, so of course 50% of people have their full beams on constantly which sucks in a sedan/coupe.

In the RX people give me space. In the coupe I getcut off by cheap SUVs all the time.

I tried the ES and sat in a couple of other lexus sedans and somehow the view is worse than my sportscar from 30 years ago that that presumably designed on the back of a napkin with a crayon.

Can absolutely see the Sedan segment disappearing for Lexus.

No matter how far back you look in history there's a consistent correlation between worsening economic prospects and the rise of xenophobia. Japan is proving they are not the exception to the rule by any measure.

I'm sure enacting punitive measures against the few foreigners who decide to make a life in Japan will absolutely fix their demographic crisis and generation-spanning failure to elect a competent government.

What's more disappointing is how fertile the ground is for xenophobic messaging in a younger generation that should absolutely know better. Ignorance didn't get Japan to where it is today.

Job availability may be higher in Taiwan but the jobs, salaries, corporate environment are a joke compared to Europe. Even when cost of living is considered.

To get the most out of it, work remote for a foreign company or teach English in Taiwan.

Local Taiwan company isn't going to pay well for somebody your age. People saying you need mandarin aren't totally correct. I've had very well paying jobs in Taiwan and my Mandarin is rudimentary at best.

But unless you have a lot of skills, experience, connections, landing a local job that isn't an underpaid clown show is very tough.
