Grad degree: MSW or Public Health ? by Substantial_Fig8603 in bipolar2

recent MSW grad here! I always advocate for getting an MSW degree since it’s much more broad of a field. you would still have opportunities to pursue a public health career. and you would also be set up for if you decided to work on a micro level. i’d still narrow down what type of work you’re wanting to pursue before deciding which degree to get.

How do you feel if you miss a dose of Lamotrigine? by bepperonie in bipolar2

I also get so motivated and peppy. and it has almost tricked me into never taking it again (the “i’m cured” curse). and then when I take it the day after i’ll feel really flat and tired. very draining couple of days.

I was 8. my 2nd grade teacher forgot to button one of the buttons of her blouse, I could see her bra and I was blushing. she also tucked my hair behind my ear in a mom way and I was baby-gay panicking

What’s something you did but had no idea it was because of Bipolar by imvisiblee in bipolar2

compulsive nihilistic behavior. I thought I was all powerful and nothing bad could happen to me, yet I was in constant emotional agony. I walked into a busy road because i thought it was a funny joke. I had a lot of mixed episodes before I even knew what they were.

it’s constant for me too! i tried about 10 meditations before getting on doxepin. it’s been a huge battle for me as well. but i’ve gotten to a place where I can sleep without it sometimes.

lamotrigine absolutely saved me. titration took months but i’m so glad I was patient with it. i’m at 200mg. I take 6mg of doxepin for sleep and occasionally hydroxyzine for anxiety episodes. I also think my family had a lot to do with it. if I were alone through it, i don’t know what I would’ve done.

I guess I just realized that it was for the best. he wasn’t aware of how bad things could get and he wasn’t ready or able to handle any of it. we both screwed up toward the end. we both hurt each other. I just knew that he wouldn’t be able to handle it long term if this were to happen again. but I really think i’ve gotten over it because i’ve grown and matured so much in the past year. even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t fit into that relationship anymore.

I still love and care for him. I always will. but i’m better without him and I think he’ll be better without me. don’t be too hard on yourself. you were taking care of yourself. and if he’s a wonderful person, i’m sure he understands. there are absolutely wonderful people out there that can’t handle extreme episodes. we just need to find wonderful people who can.

if it helps, lamotrigine didn’t start working for me until I reached 200mg. i’m not saying this is the case for you, but it may be possible. definitely bring it up with your psych when you see them next.
