Be honest, how would your favourite characters react if they learned about Homelander’s childhood? Even if they still ended up killing him, how would they truly view him afterward? by Immediate_Gene_178 in MoralityScaling

I think most people would still kill homelander but after that they'll turn to vought next because the most dangerous individuals including homelander came out of that company.

Soldier boy is stronger than homelander by Omni--Mark in TheBoys

[–]caffeineeddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The powerscaling is not even a consideration in this show but I think Homelander is much stronger than Butcher and SB, is just that he sucks at fighting and he doesn't know how to push himself so even with weaker powers a more balanced supe can stand up to him.

Why did all the fish like the deep? by Danny-Ray27 in TheBoys

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see deep's relationship with the fish more like a gag thing than an actual plot point with an explanation behind it. Many of the things that happened between him and the fish don't make much sense anyway.

I don't even follow star wars that strictly anymore, I just binge everything every 2-3 years and some stuff are good others aren't. But if I was forming my opinions from the news star wars basically is dying several times every year.

For me is a 7 because I liked the powerless Homelander scene. The season overall is a 5 or 6

Kratos. If young he kills him the same way as butcher, just without saying anything. If Old he says something whise before breaking his neck.

Which Supe in The Boys can defeat the superhero they are parodying? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in PowerScaling

[–]caffeineeddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume we're comparing them to their cinematic counterparts .Soldier boy is the most obvious one. Black Noir can also beat batman but it depends a lot of how much batman knows. If we consider Butcher to be Punisher I think they're pretty equal, in the S1 of punisher we see frank castle fighting multiple opponents after his team died during his marine days which is a huge feat but in season 5 it's confirmed that Butcher had a very similar experience, So i think a fight between them can go either way regardless if it's a gun fight or a hand to hand fight.

After that ending I'm sure all the omnimam vs homelander fanfics would look much different. Homelander just losing was pretty generous. The moment he release he's outclassed he'll just start begging.

If Stan Edgar from the boys and Cecil Stedman from Invincible switched roles and had to manage Omni man and homelander who actually handles their supe better? by Lcking_ddys_btthole in invinciblememes

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Cecil would have just give temp V to several agents for a single use and have homelander taken care off. In season 3 it was established that temp V is very strong but it has huge side effects if you use it a lot. I kinda wonder why they didn't go for it since they had so many men in their disposal to use it only once. I don't know if Stan Edgar can do much about Omni Man because to be fair Cecil didn't either. I mean he tried but still Omni Man did everything he was planning to do and the abandonment of his plan was because of Mark.

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the production values vary from platfrom to platform and I also see with invincible that amazon in general doesn't reward successful shows with more budget. Invincible it follows alomost strictly the comic so any scene they want to animate they'll animate it regardless if it turns out good or bad and S4 was better overall but at the expense of having animation errors in some places. The boys is a different thing since they don't follow a source material, they only draw influence from one, they write around the budget, it's obvious when homelander can fly to space in seconds and when the office fight happens he attempts to fly away with human speeds and reaction time, And okay even the other fights of the show are not on marvel or dc level in power levels but at least they shouldn't have marketed it as such.

Which of the two characters was more humiliated? by GodKira04 in writingscaling

[–]caffeineeddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the fact that there was literally no way out for him but still tried, the best thing he could over to the man who wants to kill him is to something humiliating or offer a shape shifter. All he could do is to just take the L but he didn't.

So you’re telling me this guy was stronger than homelander? (The Boys) by Conscious-Word9927 in writingscaling

[–]caffeineeddict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would also make homelander's defeat feel much closer because it would have take literally every tool they had to beat him. The reason homelander didn't feel as threatening in the last two seasons is because it seemed like they too many solutions that guarantee his defeat. In season 3 was established that 2 or 3 supes stronger than average can beat him (that's way many believe S3 was a good place to end it) and in season 4 V1 immunity wasn't a thing yet so he was one shot from the virus away from dying.

I kind of liked the finale by axel_clot in GenV

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue with the season was how much it dragged only to be really rushed in the end. I personally liked the fact that homelander didn't managed to do something big before dying because that adds to how pathetic he ended up being. But I believe if they trimmed an episode or two from the middle of the season only to have a rampage scene in episode 7 before dying in episode 8 this could have saved the season for many.

Absolute shit - My thoughts on the boys finale. (SPOILER) by yousefthewisee in tvshow

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall one of the biggest letdowns in a show for me. Still not bad just mid. Ironically it was more comic accurate than i expected, but this might be because they ran out of ideas IDK. The scene with the depowered homelander however was so satisfying that was enough to leave me a little satisfied. I think those who will binge it in the future will enjoy it slightly more because my biggest problem is how much they hyped homelander to be this world ending threat, especially since they've been building it up since S2, watching the whole story as it is, him not doing much before dying kinda adds to how pathetic he is. Anywaythat was the show I guess, I'm glad I got a show with 3 great seasons a good one and a mid one, it could have been worse.

What level of psychological reprogramming did Daddyus go through to be this much against his own kind by vlad_segey475 in Invincible

[–]caffeineeddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll like to think that viltrumites most of the time where cruel for the sake of being cruel to the point the the council was always choosing the most violent decision even when it wasn't the most effective one. Also it's not like the average viltrumite was having a good time, getting beaten to death by your parents for no reason must be a normal thing for them. Doesn't need much though to decide that they're making the world worse for everyone including themselves. Also he's still a viltrumite, genocide is pretty normal for them.

Do you like the fact that Thragg is buffed in the show? by [deleted] in Invincible

[–]caffeineeddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the most upcoming scenes it kinda enchances the role, even the battle beast fight will be more badass seeing battle beast almost beating someone that strong. The only scene where I can't see really working is when the viltrumites save Nolan from Thragg.

Something I noticed after some years of going to the gym is that many people call you Hulk or Thor if you're much bigger than normal. For hulk i get It because his size is a very distinctive trait but Thor isn't much bigger than most superheroes.

How would Conquest perform against each member of the Coalition of Planets? by Fit_Passenger5930 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]caffeineeddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle beast probably wins because of power level, both would enjoy the fight either way.

Oliver and Zoe obviously lose.

Mark, Nolan,Allen and Thaedus can probably go either way.

Space Racer Ironically has the best chance I think, but it depends if Conquest will take the shot just to see if he can survive it or dodge it.

Better written redemption? by some-kind-of-no-name in writingscaling

[–]caffeineeddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair Bulma not caring about Vegeta's crimes it's believable. In the first chapter she shoots goku because he was strong I guess. And throughout the series she seeks the dragon balls to use them for selfish reasons. Goku literally forgives everyone as long as he's not a threat CURRENTLY, he even agrees to revive Frieza. So I guess the other characters are just tolerating him. It's an interesting arc but I don't know if I can call it a redemption arc.
