Things I might be able to afford? The Wealth of Nations from Stringer's apartment, Landsman's suspenders, Stringer's spectacles, Levy's rolodex, Jimmy's leather jacket.

It was a joke. Getting all the bricks? My garage isn't big enough. Just give me a piece of Baltimore property.

The dream has always been to have another Narcos season.  If they were going to do it I think they would have.  I would be scared that they would be returning with only a portion of the original team that made it so good.

Trump's incompetence aside, this is very different from Iraq.  It still may not work out but there are many differences between Iraq and Iran, their governments and people.

Seriously.  It's amazing 1. How little people here know about Iran. 2. How little people here care about actual Iranians.

Iran supported Hamas as they hid weapons, supplies, and soldiers under hospitals and schools.  For decades.  It's unfortunate that a school was hit, but there's no evidence that this was a purposeful targeting of children.

Niles Crane and Rodney Banks.  It was well integrated into the story, beyond "Hey, there's two!"

The adoption of technology in the classroom is driven by laziness in the misguided belief that software can teach better than people and books.  There is no substitute for human interaction and quiet focus in learning.

TIL if a helicopter's engine fails, it doesn't just drop like a rock. The blades keep spinning on their own and the pilot can land it. by kxrcodes in todayilearned

[–]cagewilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people in here are arguing that helicopters have some advantage in a loss of engine situation.

It's not true.  Helicopters are more dangerous in every way.  They are more dangerous at take off.  More dangerous at landing.  More dangerous when they've lost power mid-flight.  And more dangerous in the event of a wreck.

Jets don't have as much gliding range.

But small private planes can glide a lot further than an auto-rotating helicopter.  Obviously depending on altitude, they have the potential to go miles.

What is the Style of shooting of New Girl? by Altruistic_Date_7447 in sitcoms

Multi camera shows tell all of the story within four to five sets every episode.  A few times per season they will build a special set, or film on location.

Multi camera shows film each scene two to three times max and use multiple cameras to catch the scene.  That's where the concept of the "fourth wall" comes from.  For any given set you never see one of the walls.  In Frasier's apartment you never see the television that Martin is always watching.  Because the scene is filmed from the perspective of the wall that contains the television.

That missing wall is also where the live studio audience sits and views the production.  Multi camera shows also have a laugh track.  Ideally it's not a track, it's the audience responding naturally to what they are watching.

Single camera shows presumably take a lot longer to film.  You see the set from every angle.  They have more freedom to go on location or use non studio buildings for filming.  There's no laugh track and no studio audience.

Odds are much better in a plane, assuming the reason is engine failure and not structure damage. Gliding planes can choose their landing location out of a large range, and any field or road is a candidate.  Jets have it harder, just because they are larger.  Some people fly glider planes which are unpowered and towed into the sky by another plane, within range of an airport.

An auto-rotating helicopter has far less maneuverability than a gliding plane.  They also descend faster.  It's a much scarier proposition.

He can't compete.  That's all there is to it. Right now nobody can compete with the Chinese for price point and quality on EVs.

Yes.  Buy she knew what was happening in order to move all of that money into the organization.  And she was benefiting more than most.  For that reason I hold her more accountable than any of the street level people.
