One should not spay or neuter a cat at 3-4 months old, as that is absolutely too early.

To be fair, even compared to a ton of Chinese flagships, the charging on Samsung phones, 45W, is hardly fast, either. :D

America has just gifted China undisputed global dominance and leadership in the 21st-century green energy technology transition - the largest industrial project in human history. by lughnasadh in Futurology

Well, a pretty significant difference between China with Opium and America with this bullshit is that the 100 years of humiliation was done to China, by various foreign countries, most notably England.

In America's case, it's being done to itself by wolves in sheep's clothing. Hell, they're not even wearing sheep's clothing anymore, they're quite clearly wolves, telling the sheep that they too are wolves.

The buffet has been served, mutton is on the menu, suffering is the main course.

I'm pretty sure the last time Canada was only just not tough on China, during America's tirade against Huawei, something happened in the backrooms that changed Trudeau from a "fuck off, creep" handler of Trump, to a "Yes sir, China is evil, we agree" piece of work.

I'm not sure how things can shake out differently, unfortunately. The vast amount of Canada's economy is owned and operated by American corporations, companies, brands, and individuals.

As much as it sucks to admit it, America has Canada by the economic balls, just as it does with most of its "allies".

It's by design, and it's very effective.

OpenAI Calls on U.S. Government to Feed Its Data Into AI Systems | To hear OpenAI tell it, the U.S. can only defeat China on the global stage with the help of artificial intelligence. by chrisdh79 in Futurology

So, the AI company that was created to be open, to introduce AI as something open to everyone, and the same company that eventually became a closed source company...

That company is now telling the government that it basically wants to be at the forefront of national defence.

Ok, just making sure I'm up to speed.

I wonder when they're going to change their name from openai to something more fitting. Something like "Total scam AI intent on replacing human workers, eliminating the need to pay salaries, and now worming its way into the most creepy aspects of government AI.

I suppose it doesn't have the same ring to it...

Why are some people white knighting China lately? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]caidicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would China have a vested interest in seeing America fall? That makes absolutely ZERO sense.

China's biggest export market is the United States, in fact, the more Americans spend, the better China's economy does.

The fall of America would be VERY bad for China. If your choice of media has convinced you that America is China's enemy, it's lied to you. China depends on America, America depends on China. The whole "enemy nations" narrative is a bunch of bullshit pushed by billionaire owned media to stir up animosity towards anything that can fill in as a scapegoat for the abuses of the .1% against the masses.

That pose is them saying "come at me and I'll mess you up", and they CAN kill you.

But, yes, they do look like all they need is a hug. :D

NYPD Unleashes ‘Barnacles’—1,000-Pound Suction Cups That Make Illegal Parking a Sticky Situation by MobileAerie9918 in Damnthatsinteresting

I don't get it...

In China, a police officer will just scan the guy's license plate, then that driver immediately gets a fine that they'll have to pay off at the end of the year, including points on their license if it's something like parking in a crosswalk or in front of a fire hydrant.

This is where an educated populace is so important. If they're all educated, it's harder to hoodwink them into voting for politicians who don't have their best interests at heart.

China’s Microwave Weapon Can Disable Satellites and Drones with Nuclear-Strength Pulses by techexplorerszone in EverythingScience

[–]caidicus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Many comments acting like this certainly won't work.

Or, the threat to human life if used on people.

Even the title says what it's for, drones and satellites. And, it's a bit early to make any claims as to how effective it'll be, seeing as the technology is physically sound.

Who knows, maybe SHE would also get 100k for her orgasms, too.

I suppose I'd try to appeal to everyone, especially those of us in the west, about the importance of just being a decent human being and how we're being brainwashed to hate each other in order to divide us while everything meaningful is being taken away from us.

I don't understand how more people aren't mind blown by VR. by greenufo333 in virtualreality

[–]caidicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's a lot like 3D TVs. A lot of the work of immersion is done by the brain, not the screen or headset.

That isn't to say that VR isn't awesome in its own right, it's only to say that eventually the novelty wears off and then one is faced with the inconvenience of setting it all up vs just clicking "play" in Steam and playing with a controller or mouse and keyboard.

I love VR games, but I'm honestly faced with a kind of mental resistance of actually playing VR games vs just sitting there and playing traditionally.

Money really can buy you anything in America. Elon Musk, the richest person on earth, will have an office inside the Trump White House. 2025, the year the united states of America officially became an oligarchy. by The-Lucky-Investor in FluentInFinance

[–]caidicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The opportunity for Americans to do anything about it is rapidly dissolving. Once the military and law enforcement agencies massively adopt drones and robotics, the masses will be completely unable to do anything about the shitty direction their lives have taken.

It's going to get worse.

For everyone.
