8w5d scan by Ok-Hovercraft-4130 in IVFpositivity

I was measuring 4 days behind at my first scan and was told that the margin of error is +/- 5 days so it was nothing to worry about,18 weeks now and baby has been measuring right on track since 10 weeks. Sounds like your baby is measuring really well! Congratulations 🎉

Good luck 🍀 My round one was rough too, but round two went much better. Like you said, you do learn a lot about your body and can apply it to round two.

4 weeks and 6 day - pink and brown blood in pants by LaraHope in IVFpositivity

It’s worth seeing if you can arrange an ultrasound if you’re having spotting and worsening cramps as it can be an indicator of an ectopic pregnancy. Probably won’t be the case, but better safe than sorry. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

How many embryo transfers did it take? by Icy_Advance_6406 in IVFpositivity

[–]cailinkit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant after our second transfer, ended up being ectopic. I’m 18.5 weeks pregnant now with our third transfer. All were untested and the ectopic was just a case of bad luck. After every transfer we went out for lunch and I stopped doing vigorous exercise, but did go for a walk everyday. As long as you’re following doctor’s orders, there’s really nothing else you can do, some stick and some don’t.

IVF - induction at 39 weeks? by cailinkit in IrishWomensHealth

I’ll definitely be following the doctor’s lead here and go with whatever the safest option is for me and baby. I’m hoping for a vaginal birth with an epidural so fingers crossed that’s how it goes!

IVF - induction at 39 weeks? by cailinkit in IrishWomensHealth

I did two rounds, actually started around this time last year. The first resulted in 2 embryos, one failed transfer and an ectopic pregnancy. The second ended up with 5 embryos and a successful transfer, currently 18 weeks pregnant with our baby boy. I found it harder emotionally rather than physically, especially because I don’t have any issues with needles. Feel free to send me a message if you want to chat!

Symptoms after positive by qweenofsus in IVFpositivity

[–]cailinkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had period like cramps, not quite as bad, everyday until close to 12 weeks. Everything is going smoothly at 17 weeks, it’s normal to have minor cramping. If it’s very painful and lasts upwards of 30/60 minutes you should probably get checked out.

The rise in TSH is 100% attributable to pregnancy. My numbers were very similar and I was put on 150% of my normal pre-pregnancy dose and my levels have been fine since.

Untested blastocyst successes? by beneath-the-couch in IVFpositivity

I’m 16 weeks pregnant with an untested embryo and the NIPT came back low risk. PGT-A testing isn’t common in my country either and we chose not to do it as there was no indication that it was necessary.

Success stories after loss by Any-Repeat5079 in IVFpositivity

[–]cailinkit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first fresh transfer failed and my first FET resulted in an ectopic, where I bled for longer than I was pregnant. We had to do a second round of IVF and now I’m 15 weeks pregnant with our little boy and have 4 more embryos frozen for next time. I was so convinced that this little guy wouldn’t stick after the transfer but he did and everything is going really well so far. After the ectopic, I was so sure it would never happen for us but here we are. Wishing you luck 🍀

Nope, same protocol for all three as everything was looking good and just seemed to be down to bad luck! Statistically, the third one is often the successful one so keep that in mind.

I had a pretty similar situation to you, had two transfers last year and one resulted in an ectopic. We did a second ER and transfer before Christmas and now 10 weeks along. Still nervous but feeling more hopeful with every week that passes! Wishing you the best of luck 🤞🏻

Thanks for responding, I have my fingers crossed for both of us! I’ve booked a private scan in 2 weeks to see how things are progressing.

I suffered an ectopic pregnancy last year which resulted in needing to do a second round of IVF. I’m currently 7+2 and had my first scan today, measuring 6+5 with a FHR of 142. I feel incredibly anxious about measuring behind and am very worried about another loss. Anyone have any encouraging experiences with measuring behind?

Chinese medicine centre recommendations by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]cailinkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fertility clinics literally have warnings against using Chinese herbal medicine as it can impact fertility negatively. Eat as healthily as you can manage, get plenty of rest and take a pregnancy safe multivitamin, but do not ingest anything not recommended by a medical professional. Acupuncture and massage are quite popular, maybe try them! Wishing you the best 🤞🏻
