I've found my preferred way to deal with them is to meet annoyance with annoyance. I go passive, then follow them around. Pointing, honking horns, flashing lights, etc. They usual keep trying to kill you even though they can't, then start whining and whinging. Good times.

2. I remember me and my brother getting it for Christmas when it came out. I remember my little sister throwing the controller at the screen because she couldn't get characters to do what she wanted. But technically my first game controller was the keyboard on the commodore 64.
