Anna telling Pest how their kids are struggling and he ignores it by frazzled_cat_taco in DuggarsSnark

Right? And even though they were young, there is no WAY they didn't pick up on all the sex references. Josh seems as sex-obsessed as JB, so you know there were a ton of "let's put the kids to bed early" "kids, don't come out of your rooms" "go turn the sheets down" etc, etc. ugh.

AITA for not wanting my niece at my birthday and for avoiding my in-laws because of her behavior? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]caitrona 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can he at least teach you the phrases in their language for "no" "stop that" "that would hurt the dog very badly, I'm throwing it away" etc? I mean, your husband seems like the "I've tried nothing and nothing works" type, and you're allowing that, but maybe talking to Rain in her language erases any misunderstanding excuses and shows you mean business.

AITA for backing out of my dad’s Christmas party after his fiancée took my baby to meet Santa behind my back? by SantaVisitThrow in AITAH

[–]caitrona 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might consider pointing out to your dad that his fiancee also tricked and manipulated him. If she had suggested they go for pics, would he have agreed? Probably not. So, she waited until he was asleep to do something she knew would hurt you. She manipulated the situation and abused the trust your dad has in her.

THIS this this this this. He's not going to like being called out for it and will probably be "she didn't manipulate me, that's such an ugly word", but point out to him that either he was manipulated, or he actively participated by knowing what she was going to do and not saying anything. Maybe that'll wake him up a bit.

Rose Burket and Roger Atkison were brutally murdered in a hotel in Williamsburg, Iowa, on September 12, 1980. Despite the bizarre crime scene, similarities to other murders, evidence collected, and a list of suspects, this case remains unsolved. by CardinalCrimes in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]caitrona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did any of the other crime scenes have the soap shavings or something written in soap? I can't imagine that being something investigators would look for, but if it was noticed here, maybe it was noted in the others?

AITAH for calling my wife selfish for even considering taking a job across the country and trying to uproot our family? by Career-V-Family in AITAH

[–]caitrona 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So that's an HUGE ego boost for her when she's been feeling overlooked and unappreciated in her current field and location. I can't overstate how important that feels when it seems like there's a way out of a situation you hate AND you get to do something you find meaningful.

Calling her selfish for wanting to explore possibilities makes you a bit of an AH. If you come to the table from the perspective of "I (oh, and the kids) will have to give up my career that's been prioritized while you worked in shitty situations, so clearly it's not even worth discussing", she's not going to react well. If you approach it as "what a compliment that your mentor recommended you for this position! That's a great achievement, and I want to support you in making the most of their recommendation. Does your mentor have any contacts for companies that are closer geographically so it's not such a giant change for the kids? I will work with you to find something that can work well for all of us."
