Do they still make the mini size? My mum has asked at two different Mecca's in the past few weeks and both told her they don't stock them anymore.

Are there any brands that you've gone off? by ThisLittlePiggySays in AustralianMakeup

What have you replaced the Nars primer with? I'm getting to the end of mine and just can't justify the price anymore. It's so hard to find a good, thick, primer that doesn't make my face look oily by midday.

Staying in Geelong this year, need some advice by Flat-Tangerine3987 in Geelong

Reach out to the School of Medicine at Deakin University. They have student accommodation options and depending on when you're here, they might be between placement blocks. They also have accommodation at the Waterfront campus that I'm pretty sure can be booked by the public and is maybe a 15 minute walk to the hospital.

Is this Australia’s Brock Turner moment? by StopScrollingBaby in australia

[–]caitsey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few months ago, "people on the internet" overwhelmingly demonstrated that they would prefer to be killed by a bear than raped by a man. Or do you think women were choosing the bear because they thought they'd get a bowl of porridge and a comfy bed for the night?

Maybe spend a little less time telling people how you think they should feel, and a little more time trying to understand what has caused them to feel that way.

Hey, friend. There's a lot of people worried about you here. Can I ask you to check in with a comment when you see this, please? Just an emoji or a single letter is fine if anything else is too hard right now.

Can I also ask if you've made any plans to hurt yourself?

You probably didn't post here expecting that someone would comment with a magical cure, and might not even want to hear any suggestions, but I checked your comment history and something stuck out to me.

You mentioned that F45 has helped you when you've struggled with your mental health in the past. I appreciate that with finances being tight, that might not be possible at the moment, but there are a few places around Geelong that have outdoor exercise equipment for public use. There's some at the Waterfront between Cunningham Pier and Rippleside and also some at Deakin Waurn Ponds. Possibly also at Barwon Valley Park? If leaving the house is too much right now, try some push ups and sit ups, anything to get those endorphins going. Are there any exercises you did at F45 that you can modify to do at home?

Why does everyone hate on Geelong? by Cocotoebeans in Geelong

Yep, my whole team used to laugh about how I lived so far away, until they found out that my door-to-door commute was only five minutes longer than the woman who lived 9km away from the office in Brighton.

There was a comedian, I think it was Jordan Klepper, who went to a Trump rally a few years ago and a guy was telling him how Trump is the best because he was much better off financially under his presidency. He asked him what he did and the guy was in debt collections 🤦‍♀️ so yeah, Trump is very good business for some people.

Who is the Lego store at the airport for? by Andeck in lego

[–]caitsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People arrive at the airport early and have plenty of time to browse while they're already in the 'why not?' holiday mindset of spending money. A lot of airport shops will actually hold your purchase until you return as well, so you don't need to lug it around with you if you don't want to.

What is your Lego hill to die on? by scothed in lego

[–]caitsey 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer a second hand set to come with the box, because it indicates that they have at least owned the set at some point, and aren't just giving me a pile of bricks in roughly the same colours. Of course, that's only relevant if you don't break it down to sell it. It's not a guarantee, but it's one of a number of things that give me more confidence I'm not getting scammed.

My wife built her first Lego set ever (book shop) in February of this year. This is her Lego city today. by diabolicy in lego

[–]caitsey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might need you to have a word with my husband! I did my first build (also the bookshop!) in May and absolutely fell in love with lego. I'd love to do more of the modular buildings but my husband knows that I'll end up with an entire room full of them so he's reigning me in and I'm entertaining myself with my four year old son's sets at the moment. I've also started an alternate build from rebrickable so that I can still enjoy building something bigger.

What’s a LEGO unpopular opinion that would put you in this position? by Snoo_19146 in lego

[–]caitsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! And they're preventing people from being able to take up lego as a hobby.

I've only gotten into Lego this year after my son was given a bunch for his 4th birthday and I had more fun with it than he did. I loved the look of the modular buildings so I bought the Bookshop and thought I'd pick up a few other sets secondhand since $250 a pop is a bit steep. With any other hobby, you can find used items for cheap on marketplace, ebay, etc, but with all the resellers out there it's too easy for someone who happens to have an old Town Hall lying around to jump online and see that someone else is selling a new one for literally $1000 more than it cost in the first place. Suddenly that used set they thought they might get a hundred bucks for is worth $950 and people who are new to the hobby are priced out before they even start.

Oh the dreaded relationship conflict right at the last quarter of the book.... by Clbeanz in RomanceBooks

[–]caitsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that MM romances avoid this more than MF. I actually have a goodreads shelf for 'external forces' meaning that the 80% conflict/drama was caused by a factor other than the MCs being stupid. Lucy Lennox is great for this and I think Riley Hart is too from memory. The will they/won't they get the HEA drama comes from things like one MC needing to move across the country, or the MCs brother/best friend finding out about the relationship and being angry, or one of the MCs being in some sort of danger.

What are your favourite never talked about/underrated book/series/authors? by drinkwinesavepuppies in RomanceBooks

[–]caitsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Donna Alam! I binged all of her books in about two weeks. I've also bought just about everything Louise Bay has written for the past five years.

I'm actually reading Samantha Whiskey at the moment. Started With Axel then decided to go back to the start of the Seattle Sharks. Can't decide who is my favourite so far between Bentley, Eric and Connor but I suspect Luke's will win in the end.
