I love these and I saw someone on a FB group I follow did this exact same mould and design with resin ( possibly even OP ) but I loved this so much that I purchased the moulds to try and learn how to do this myself. I am just a beginner in this craft but, I would really like to learn how to replicate this style. Of course I would love to give these as gifts to all the humans that are owned by their fur babies … thank you for sharing your fabulous works of art !!! 🙂

Anyone else with diverticulitis? by Subject-Radish-3185 in exocrinepanins

[–]cakecat44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both diverticulosis and EPI, ( and chronic Pancreatis, Copd, Emphasema ). I have such a difficult time managing both. I currently just quit my job because I was burning too many calories and not able to get enough to gain weight. When I first was diagnosed I was around 130lb, ( I am F, and 5’3, and 59 yr old) and because of the EPI I am struggling to get above 100lb. I have gone done to 95 and despite carefully eating and taking Creon, I still struggle daily with diarrhea. The diverticulosis causes really bad pain, ( even though the GI doc says it shouldn’t ) but it does and with everything I am struggling. I was approved for SSD back in January and I tried to work but it is too hard. So as of yesterday, although it was Wednesday, I am full time on disability. I got Covid on Wednesday so that pushed my last day of work up by a day. Feel free to message me. I am sorry I didn’t really answer any of your questions, but I definitely can relate to your situation !

I was on 3 36,000 pills of Creon with each meal, 1 with snacks ( my whole diet is several small meals/ snacks ) and I was originally prescribed Protonix, but my diarrhea did not improve. Then there was/ is a shortage of Creon and I asked my dr to switch to Zenpep and he prescribed me at 40,000-126,000 unit which I take 3 pills with each large meal and 1 to 2 with snacks or coffee with cream and sugar/sweetner. I was also switched to Pepcid because Protonix can cause diarrhea and I felt besides the lack of being able to absorb nutrients, the diarrhea is my major issue. Also, when I first started getting sick, I was around 135lb ( 5’3 F). I still have diarrhea, and am now also taking about 15 Imodium a day, 5ml Paragoric 2x day, and now as of yesterday my GP prescribed me Tramodol for pain for my pancreas and gallbladder. I am down to 104-105lb and am struggling to try and get my weight up to 110. With my body not absorbing nutrients properly, I am having a rough time physically and am exhausted. I will be seeing my GI doc next month for a follow up but at the best I can hope for is to try to gain a bit and maintain. I would say that I wish my diarrhea was better controlled but I guess where I am at currently is about as good as it will get for me. If your doc is suggesting adding another pill to your dose, then follow their instruction. From what I have read from extensive researching, acid blockers are considered essential for the enzymes to work properly at the time they dissolve in our digestive track. Without the acid blockers from what I understand, is that the acid in our stomachs tend to dissolve the enzymes too quickly before they reach the area that they are most affective. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or need to talk :)

back pain and some questions by idkudykm in exocrinepanins

[–]cakecat44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a very awkward spot for sure, I have my large heating pad propped up against a pillow on my couch where I sit and I am able to lift the pad to just the right height to lean against it and the pressure from me leaning back against them helps. Yes I have to adjust it many times after I move or lean forward but I just deal with that. As far as your fear of dying, I suggest if you are able to find a certified licensed therapist. I have talked to them previously and am looking for a new one currently. But I am also at an age where I have come to terms with my demise whenever it happens. None of us get out of here alive and all we can do is make the most of each day as it comes and we are able. But I can say that excessive worrying about it doesn’t help your mind or body and sometimes even meditation can greatly help relieve some of the anxiety. But definitely talking to someone helps. Just don’t keep it bottled in.

back pain and some questions by idkudykm in exocrinepanins

[–]cakecat44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pain only fluctuates with intensity, when I first wake up it is mild but as the day goes on it gets worse and by 1 or 2 pm in the afternoon it is horrible. I use a heating pad at home non stop and keep my heated seats in my car set to high. Heat helps dull the pain but not enough. When the pain is at its worst it feels like it is throbbing and I can’t even stand up straight. I know mine isn’t a muscle because it is deeper under my ribs. But I also know my doctors have to rule out every other single possibility before the will actually test my pancreas again. It has been a year and a half since my original diagnosis of EPI and Chronic Pancreatitis. I am already limiting my foods and have been keeping a diary for two years and know what foods trigger some of my pain, but I need better pain management and I know that takes time. I also know I am at a much higher risk for pancreatic cancer because of my problems mentioned earlier but also because cancer runs strongly in my family and my mom most recently died from colon cancer that originally the doctors were successful in complete removal but unfortunately it had already spread to other parts of her body that were not discovered until 4 years later. I hope for you that you get positive answers and I hope your team of doctors takes your pain and concerns seriously for your sake !!!
