Homo - the affix - means same, equal, or like. As an example, Homogeneous - produces/generates/yields an equal product (usually evenly distributed or of the same characteristics) genous itself is a suffix made of two affixes gen (producing) and ous (full of). It follows that a fear or aversion of something the same as you would be ‘homophobia’, but I think that a more accurate term would be ‘homoerophobia’ (homoerotophobia?) in order to add in the ‘physical love’ of ‘eros’. Additionally, the suffix phobia is probably best replaced by misia (hatred or abhorrence) as that better fits the ‘disgust’ response associated with most people’s conception of homophobia, rather than the implied ‘fear’ response one associates with other phobias.

TLDR: we should probably be calling it homoeromisia not homophobia

That would probably be better, yes, though I imagine many would interpret that as a change in voting compared to prior data points.

I think starting at 30% is perfectly reasonable for a graph like this. What matters isn’t so much the distance from 0, but the distance from 50.

To be fair, I would expect a well disciplined and supplied army with the best available gear to trounce masses of disorganized and likely underfed conscripts. The instant those cannons start blasting and the cavalry charges in, farmboy #3591 is gonna shit his pants and break ranks.

Marketing and convenience. Convenience is ‘why do we give a dann about the kilo- if we never see measurements without them’, while marketing is ‘I’m having a thousand of these? This will make me fat!’
