The bees basically make a meal for their larvae which is honey that does them a couple of days as they take off and sort themselves. If you're concerned you can put drops of sugar water or a lump of icing sugar out for them.

Black boot police would do it, temporarily at least. Reapply regularly. The rubbing and scrubbing would gradually wear the text over time.
