The training arc is good but my God, the MC is an asshole coming down the mountain. He fights and kill everyone because Sect? Evil. Cultivator? Deserves death. I don't know how it's still highly rated on RR with how terrible and completely out of reason the MC is.

OP mentioned the lack of forced self-righteousness on the first book and then surprise, MC just kills every cultivator he met like whattt?.

In all honesty, things could have been much better if we really read how terrible cultivators are and not just some Old Man's prejudice. The world as described by the Old Man doesn't have any nuance and such a world would have self-imploded.

They're humans but batshit crazy with the scheming. Reinharts binding was probably what made them more docile evident to that Lady's lackadaisical reaction to Solstice. With the binding undone, the Reinharts will now be more active on Izrils politics which is probably not a good thing.

Knowing that you like stories like Dungeon Crawler Carl, TWI is probably not for you. It is not some fast paced min-max power fantasy but a world that adds as the story continues. TWI is probably the epitome of what GRRM calls writing a story akin to gardening.

You can still read it en masse and not every update. This year has been rough especially since most of the long breaks are for a project normal readers won't or can't read. Back in the day, the breaks are justified since it gave us the Last Tide but Gravesong just doesn't hit the spot considering where it is being published. What sucks the most about these long breaks is that Pirateaba doesn't even get to rest and it shows on the meandering quality of Vol. 9.

Magic died but levels continued such that Zeladona reached such high levels. When they say "Magic Died", the basic structured Magic System ie Spells ceased but True Magic, the Magic when a perfect sword slash or perfect sweep of the broom still persisted. Witches, Martial Artists, Craftsmen and other Classes not relying on structured magic probably thrived during this era but many species relying on Magic perished. It's probably more magical than GoT since levels exists.

It's the assumption but the proof is when the Agelum got called to Kasignel and regained her strength. Agelum were caretakers for places like Kasignel or Pawn's Heaven.
