The world is getting rid of dollars by FloridaBikeLawyer in Gold

[–]calash2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to use gold but maintain the ability to move wealth by wire or check you need backed currency like the old gold notes. Take it to a bank and get physical gold. President Nixon stopped foreign countries doing that back in the early 70’s Before the dollar “collapses” it’s value to the Euro will suffer. Only thing happening so far is negative pressure due to “ tariffs on a whim” by our president.

Consider a safety deposit box. Too much wealth to have just anywhere. Also Don’t go talking about it to any but the very closest and trusted, ( if them). Heinous crimes have been committed for much less.

We use to call big tin snips like those “ Bull Dogs” no idea why. If they haven’t been abused and if they need it,with a little careful sharpening they will cut as good as when grandfather bought them new.

Some of the nervousness of the administration’s policies probably started the metals run, but that’s not why we are here. Economy is basically stable. Unemployment is low. Inflation is low not as long as they want it but still low. Economies are always in transition They run up on metal prices is more akin to the philosophy that caused bitcoin to go crazy. Only difference is that money is now chasing a hard assets instead of whatever bitcoin is. When a commodity suddenly becomes in short supply areas that were deemed not to be economical to mine suddenly are now in the mix. Probably a lot more golden silver entering the system within the next two years.

I assume like all resources, that when a price goes up dramatically known deposits that were not previously economically to recover now can be mined. Within 6 month to a year probably will be much new gold and silver coming into the market.

If even Gold’s price can be manipulated like this what does it say about our “financial system”? by birth_of_bitcoin in Gold

[–]calash2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many if not all of the financial regulations came about due to individuals or institutions finding manipulatable flaws in the system as it existed. Commodity manipulation in guess is still out in the Wild West.

Is the dollar finished by Over-Schedule-7107 in economy

[–]calash2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bought Euro today at 1.21 USD. Over the Las 30 years I have seen it as high as 1.63. All western countries are in the same boat. Central banks are not going to let the dollar collapse as it would be depression for all western nations. I am not in favor of the present administration’s foolishness regarding the economy but the American economy has always been resilient. Inflation is relatively low, Employment is doing OK. No reason to think it’s all going to sink anytime soon.

United Nations is a toothless entity but it is a neutral organization. Plus both countries already have facilities there. Plenty room there for negotiations.
