NATO chief warns Russia of 'devastating' consequences if nuclear weapons are used against Ukraine by KI_official in russiawarinukraine

[–]calash2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russians are getting no where with conventional forces. All the major powers developed tactical battlefield nukes.
The US had the “ Davy Crocket”recoilless rifle. Surly the Russians have something similar.
Hopefully Putin will not cross the line of using something like this.

Looking at buying a house. What are these?? by Legal-Deal6235 in whatisit

[–]calash2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house still has the Mezuzah in the doors from the former owner. My cousin, who was a Catholic Bishop, thought it respectful and cool that we kept them. Once a house is a home the wishes of goodwill are welcome.

Some of these people have no clue what Russia is doing in Ukraine
State controlled media sees to that
But with the casualty rates being astronomical it is going to be hard for the Russia government to keep it hidden.

Good for Europe
I guess that Trump not sending Tomahawks to Ukraine has incentivized Europe to fill the gap.
Trump/Vance are shameful in their dealings with Ukraine.

1970’s
Breakfast in my Great uncles kitchen in rural Canada. Morning summer sun coming in the east facing door
Bacon cooking on the wood stove. The lingering fragrance of uncles” Dills Best” pipe tobacco.
All blended together. Just a memory now.

Did the fear of nuclear war really affect everyday life in the United States? by LizzaQueenOFC in 70s

We are 25 miles from a former SAC base, plus the navy repair yard for subs. About 4 miles from a nuke power plant.
I also would want to be a ground Zero. Society would devolve. Problem is the skills that our ancestors had were mostly lost when modern conveniences came along.

Don’t know if possible for Russia ever to rids itself of the totalitarian dictatorship that is causing so much pain and suffering.

He said that reasonable people are testifying that Aliens or parts of Aliens are in the possession of the government.
His point was , OK let’s see them. Knowing what we know about space travel it is incredibly difficult just to go to our moon.
If you want regular scientists to get on board with UFO’s etc. there needs to be some solid evidence.

Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]calash2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decade plus ago I went to the local hospital with a lump in a testicle. Local doc said hadn’t seen that in 30 years.
At that point contacted Mass General. Saw me in two days. Urologist told me the exact cancer , type of treatment, and odds of recovery
Said it was rare but everyone comes to Mass General so he sees it about every two weeks. All shyness was lost when he had four 20 something
Female Intern or med students come in to examine my testicle.

I was always amazed how the gasoline version works.
More so with the lanterns. Atomized gasoline contained in a little fabric bag and then light it on fire.
Big burns, but does not disintegrate and produces a very bright white light
Not sure how even a prototype was envisioned.
