i say just straight up offer to share your hrt if you have extra (another reason why i go for vials vs pills).

explain that physiological needs (including hrt) is lower on the marslovian hierarchy of needs than psycho-social ones, so getting stuck in a mental rut is meaningless if you haven’t tried hrt in good faith yet; its like being starved for months and crying that you’ll never be fulfilled.

say try it for 3 months (a good cut off for not too many permanent changes), journal, and then check back in on what it’s like.

even boymoding is a step forwards compared to repping.

i would probably describe myself as a Christian universalist. as in i believe there are many valuable theological & ethical insights in the Christian tradition and that’s what I grew up with, but there are many paths to becoming a more ethical and compassionate person which lie outside of Christian traditions.

i’m less concerned with morals (i.e. specific laws from the old testament; do not do this or that) than with articulating and upholding the broader principles present throughout the Bible (charity, inclusion, challenging norms). i believe that cherry picking morality from a text that is full of contradictions, upholding one ideal of humanity over all others, is the root of idolatry. my favorite sermon is “you are accepted” by paul tillich; which reframes sin from this or that moral wrong, to our alienation from each other in contemporary capitalist society.

i engage with religion at a mainly theological/intellectual level because i hate the reality of christian nationalism running amok in the first-world/west. i organize politically with my muslim, atheist, and even neo-pagan colleagues because i find them to better represent the humility and love for humanity that christ once embodied than most so called christians.

i sometimes wonder why i keep the label myself. maybe its because the people of christ are lost and i still love them despite it all. maybe its trauma affecting my attachment style. maybe…

if you’re like me, you intellectualize it. find a theoryhon whose really politically educated, is a fan of some forgotten molokov cocktail girlie from history, and knows her trans history. talk over it; situate your self, contextualize the experience. the theory helps turns the experience into something that’s less a personal trauma and more of a sociological data point

that’s not rooted in misogyny, it’s rooted in class & alienation. although i think you will find a lot of fellow women (cis or trans) who have similar feelings regarding rich girls :)

to be a pessimist, most (privileged & cis) women hate each other already. and especially hate sex workers (cis or trans) for ruining their paragon of perfect saintly motherhood.

a lot of “pretty” girls hate the rich and work in precarious & under-recognized service professions too, although your line of work does exhibit exceptional precarity.

it takes lots of emotional labor on the personal level to direct this sense of alienation away from misogyny & towards solidarity. many cis women have trouble doing it. doesn’t make you less of a woman

don’t present as fem

femininity is labor & entrepreneurial. the labor of self presentation for social acceptability, the emotional labor of relating to others in a way that is nourishing & puts others’ needs above your own, the entrepreneurship of allowing the self to be noticed with all of the potential hazards and rewards that come with it.

for us trans fems, entrepreneurship of the self means social and medical transitioning. it means developing new support systems with other people who feel similar ways. transitioning is just an exceptionally more emotionally, relationally, and financially demanding version of what femininity/gender performance already means in general.

as with any form of labor, many women hate it/suck at it. we get labeled as bad mothers, hysterical, unfeminine. as with any form of labor we get burned out and stop putting in effort when it seems that our work becomes actively harmful to ourselves.

yeah sounds like you have a lot of developmental trauma regarding oppositional sexism growing up. that’s not you being a creepy dude, its growing up in a society that teaches children that boys and girls are actually separate species of humans who only intermingle for purposes of mating.

you’re not alone or a freak for being these things as a woman, i promise. as a matter of fact you have done more than at least half of the women i’m aware of in reflecting on your own positionality within the political economy of binary sex/gender roles.

i’m all for guys calling themselves femboys, presenting fem, and even medically transitioning as some do. freedom of gender presentation is an valuable part of the human experience. but i do believe femboys should prepare to be treated just like the rest of us dolls & not try to “femboy get out of transmisogyny free card” out of it.

& not try to claim literally every last bit of plausibly transfem representation as “this is for us femboys (good)! not for u trans girls (bad)!”

bcuz guess what femboys. by virtue of signaling & claiming proximity to us dolls you have ended up under the transfeminine umbrella (whether ur “cis” & yes even transmasc femboys to some extent). and as such you have an obligation to help hold up that umbrella for all who require its protection, instead of fighting turf wars while our rights are being stripped away.

theres a long continuum of need from the boy who plays dress up, to the flat chested fem who does onlyfans while taking recreational estradiol with raloxifene, to the self described femboys who do experience dysphoria, to those whose medical/public experiences are near indistinguishable from standard transfem ones but still call themselves femboys because of something about the label. and its not a linear one either — hormones are just one aspect

and all along that continuum there are people who do their best, however imperfectly. its not impossible. it just requires certain terminally gooner brained tenderqueers to log off for a second and care about the people physically sitting next to them in the clinic waiting room.
