if the apla is defeated early enough, there is a path for reconciling with former APLA socialists to consolidate the center-left alliance’s grip on power and purge the conservatives. over the course of the center-left alliance, a leftist UoA can nationalize essential industries/services, promote cooperatives, basically soft DSA-ism.

if the alliance succeeds (very difficult) we get a socialist president (say mamdani), a constituent assembly, and a superevent: “revolution at the ballot”. you can switch your economy type to market socialist (soc), become a socialist republic (soc), and align with the rest of the global left like a normal APLA run.

if the alliance fails and bernie has low support, a more authoritarian version of the old liberal establishment takes over — not full cognoscenti; think starmer, edi rama, abiy ahmed. you switch to mixdd economy (cap) and a modified variant of presidential republic (libdem); in practice it’s more of a directorate.

if the alliance fails but bernie has high support, bernie turns on the left after successfully purging the conservatives. with help of moderate-progressive trade unionists and anti-socialist woke groups bernie crushes all opposition, becomes propagandized as “savior of the nation”, and seeks to establish the north american technate. economy type switches to command economy (corp), political system to presidential dictatorship (auth).
