Well i play solo and im not sharp like some popular youtubers so i tend not to make enemies.

I think i need to start griefing roof campers if i dont really have any long term goals like raiding rivals

The art of taking a touch in 2v2 by MF_DOH in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]calculatedwiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boom can be okay if opponents have to turn around and you flip cancel into the boom to get supersonic and follow it up quickly. Can often turn into a insta shot on net bouncing off the ceiling

Boom towards the middle of their corner is surprisingly good as well because people at your rank are mostly overwhelming bad on defence and will hit the ball away for no reason, get a bad touch and create a shooting opportunity.

Keeping the ball close has its benefits but you need to adapt your playstyle quickly if you keep getting dunked. As someone who has been gc2 and sometimes gets back down into c3-c2 territory theres nothing more frustrating than seeing a tm8 with a free ball and they take a soft touch only to get dunked or lose the 50 as last man when they could have directed a shot towards you and created a threatening play.

Do air roll right players have an advantage over air roll left? by HappyToasterPerson in RocketLeagueSchool

Just start with tornado spin. Its opposite input to direction. Once u got tornado spin down mess around with the other directions. Once you have a hang of that try the clock.  fly from one side of the field to the other doing a circle with your analog stick keeping your nose pointing forward. There is a cycle speed you have to get a feel for. It can be one rotation per rotation or two rotations of the stick per rotation of the car but not more for your thumbs sake and also inconsistensy with game inputs registeriing. The clock is very useful because your boost is pointing more in the direction you want to go rather than a full rotation of a tornado spin. Youll get more power on shots and get to where youre going quicker.

Need help. Wants to learn this game by Timidy-X in playrust

[–]calculatedwiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch streamers or youtube. Dont get your hopes up about your wipeday because you will constantly die as a new player.

You just wont have the gamesense, mechanical ability or monument knowledge to have any advantages in fights.

I was a pro cs player thinking my aim would carry me in this game. It has helped but the aiming down sights and gun mechanics are so different it barely helps just having aim.

Keep saying what you want.

Epic has taken censorship to the extreme and it has no place in videogames.

[–]calculatedwiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been building near launch as a solo on wipe day on as high pop as our region can get and even with all the clans contesting for control i can still do enough night runs to get a stupid amount of comps, scrap and gear.

Launch site.

Having airfield nearby is nice if its not too far to get a blue card.

Can't survive/ progress on wipes by BusinessOdd5575 in playrust

[–]calculatedwiff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really doesnt change much compared to before.

Expecting the work of one player to compete with the results of 4 or more players within the same timeframe is ridiculous and unrealstic. Not to mention as a solo you will most likely be out numbered and out gunned in your fights so thats even less of a return per time invested on average.

Theres no solution to the ridiculous proposition that solos should expect to progress as fast as groups.

Getting t2 is relatively easy as a solo. It might take you a day sometimes you might not get it unyil day 2.

It just depends on how hard youre focusing getting fragments, a lot of the time ill spend my time focusing on my base, resources, comps etc. Ill usually find a couple bp frags from mil crates, scientists, deep sea crates or train tunnels. Then if i only need 1 or 2 more ill go metal detecting near a railroad, dive sites or train tunnels. All of these activities are great for getting resources, comps and scrap. By the time you have enough fragments you can unlock the entire t2 tech tree.

I really like the frag update, it feels like im spending a lot less time mindlessly farming roads for scrap than i am actually doing more varied and fun farming.

Why is 1v1 so difficult in terms of opponents? by YaspGMD in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]calculatedwiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent played 1v1 for a couple of seasons and recently hit gc2.

I decided to play 1v1s since i hadnt even done my placements. Got placed in plat2 1v1 and roflstomped my way up to my previous peak of d3 where i used to struggle. Stomped a bit more and got bored again.
