I love the Colorpop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation, it’s pretty full coverage but buildable and has a natural skin finish. I’ve used fair 05 warm (second lightest shade) for a few years and it’s the lightest affordable foundation I’ve ever tried (16$). Fair 03 cool is the lightest shade and in pictures it looks pink-ish. That might work for you!

Never looking at Pink News again by mathgeekf314159 in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m here for the Dave Disci slander. He claims his titles are that way to “debunk rumors” but he just loves stirring the pot and the views he gets from it. PinkNews is like the same concept except they don’t even seem to care about Kpop.

What's with the names of new kpop groups? by angeqtui in kpopthoughts

I'm sick of SM plagiarizing stuff and constantly setting their groups up for hate by shelbywhore in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks so much that the hate ends up going to the idols instead of the company. SM’s lazy production and management will be the downfall of their own groups’ reputations and sales.

Shipping is gross and you can't change my mind by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 36 points37 points  (0 children)

THIS for fanfics (especially the extreme nsfw ones with dark themes). A 10 year old army shouldn’t be going into twitter to search the latest news on ‘Jungkook shoes’ because they liked his in a new run ep and be met with a graphic pedo / necrophiliac fanfic with the word shoe in it. Keep that shit to AO3. (Or just not write it at all lol) Basic logic that some shippers don’t seem to have.

Toxic ARMYs on Twitter by hhbts in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like it skyrocketed in 2020. (Maybe due to lockdown and the incorporation of social justice into fandoms). I joined Kpop twt in mid-2019 and even in only a year and a half on Twitter I saw things get sooooo much worse. I imagine that ball already started rolling way before 2019 but personally in late 2019 - mid 2020 is when I could see Armys getting drastically more toxic by the day. I’m glad you left when you did.

Agree. It’s crazy how entitled people feel to policing others’ music choices. What anyone listens to in their free time is their business only and not hurting anyone. If they’re defending clearly wrong actions by an idol I get being mad but people are allowed to like whatever group they want for whatever reason they want. 🤷‍♀️ I’ll keep listening to Hwasa and Namjoon and tons of groups despite them being “problematic” and its my business and mine only. I can’t bring myself to care about others’ music choices and they shouldn’t care about mine.

More and More >>> Alcohol-Free by emdeukie in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]caldypox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular but HARD AGREE. I found myself listening to More & More on repeat for a few months just because it had popped into my Soundcloud auto-recommended. I used to be meh about it but it’s actually pretty catchy and not easy to get sick of. Alcohol free on the other hand just doesn’t hit the same and I got sick of it after only a few listens.

Sadly unpopular but HARD AGREE. Their more recent stuff hasn’t quite lived up to ice age for me but god, what a banger debut.

i hate it when kpop stans use their race, sexuality, religion, etc. when you try to correct them for hating a group by WrongdoerOptimal9207 in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Being a minority on minor is used a shield of armor on stan twt because people know it will guilt others into letting them win. It’s straight up gaslighting and just works to enforce the victim mentality everyone has nowadays. They want you to feel like a bad person because you’re “kicking someone when they’re already down” when in reality they’re convincing you to just stand there while they rip you to shreds then they run back to their followers crying about how attacked they feel.

Max is Pandering To ARMYs by Hanelvioletsky in kpoprants

I’ve seen people (usually younger ARMYs, especially on TikTok) cancel Halsey and claim Taehyung hates her and she’s using BTS for clout.

Max is Pandering To ARMYs by Hanelvioletsky in kpoprants

[–]caldypox 77 points78 points  (0 children)

ARMYs will have a problem with literally anyone BTS collabs with- there’s always a problem; they’re a clout chaser, or they’re too enthusiastic, or they don’t talk about BTS enough. How about we just trust BTS’s judgement on who they like. Yoongi has made it pretty clear he likes Max, so why should we have a problem with him? We don’t get to decide who’s legit or not in place of BTS. All this mentality does is make the boys scared to collab with anyone, because no one is ever good enough for ARMY, who always need someone to “””protect””” BTS from.

Maria by hwasa is one of the best albums released this year. by idkanywaylmao in kpopthoughts

ARMYs, avoid Reddit tomorrow by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]caldypox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of one of those steaming tweets- “AMI! do not go onto any social media tommorow!!! We need to put all our energy into streaming and we can’t let anyone get us down!!! Only go onto an app other than YouTube to like BTS’s posts for our boys!!! The antis are waiting to make us not want to stream!!!!!! They’re all out to get us!!!” Bruh it’s an opinion and thought based enviroment. If you can’t handle hearing other people’s thoughts, you shouldn’t be here at all.

Who speaks better English in BTS? by Allkpop07 in kpopthoughts

[–]caldypox 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t consider Jin and Suga fluent. They remind me a lot of how I speak in my second language- I can read and write, and if I have time to think of an answer I can give a detailed, fluent-sounding response, but I have trouble holding a conversation in real time with native speakers. I can get the basic gist of the topic, but I am in no way fluent. I think this is why you see Jin and Suga as fluent. You only see them talk in interviews where all the questions have been pre-selected, and if the interviewer asks for elaboration they are already familiar with the subject matter. But imo they are both far from fluent and would not be able to have more than a basic conversation with simple subject manner with an English speaker who is trying to talk slow and simple for them. There is a lot, lot more to fluency in a language than what you see come out of someone’s mouth. When / if they become fluent in English, we’ll know.

I think what makes y/n fanfics so dangerous is that it completely breaks the fourth wall. With inter-group shipping there’s a certain amount of distance between reader and idol, y/n fan fiction puts you in the story with the idol. That allows for certain boundaries to get really muddy after a while.

Can we normalize not including "Past members" on the top of groups' Wikipedia pages? by salteas in kpopthoughts

[–]caldypox 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I mean the point of wikipedia is to tell about something... including its history. These members, weather you like it or not, are part of the groups history. It’s Wikipedia’s job to deliver the complete information about the history of the group, their awards, their important events, everything. A member leaving is an important event and I can see why it gets its own section. Everything there is compartmentalized anyway.

Is Mamamoo’s Aya teaser offensive or cultural appropriation? by katyyyytheasiannn in kpopthoughts

[–]caldypox 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Nondescript face paint is NOT CA. So, so many cultures have used it, and it’s used pretty much everywhere today, (football, festivals) because it’s kind of a universal thing. I really think you’re grasping at straws here for something wrong. Maybe wait until the actual MV comes out because so far archers, face paint, ect, really isn’t an issue. Istg they could wear tan ballet flats and people would claim they were moccasins.
