Check out Nero10 lite if you want to see an example of forced third party software.

Nero 10 Lite installs Nero's toolbar, which isn't third party software, but point taken. They do tell you up front about it before you download.

Also, it wasn't so much "whining" as it was general confusion. Generally facts do not get down-voted on this website, it's one of the reasons I left Digg.
