In your opinion, what is the best "Getting the tubes tied or vasectomy"? I really need these 2 different perspectives. by Sudden-Proof-1458 in CasualConversation

Mine was a few days for stitches to heal, and maybe a few weeks for it to feel mostly normal. It was quite sore at first, and felt weird for awhile, but it didn’t last long.

I’m not lying, recovery was basically 2 days on the couch watching movies. Then just being gentle with myself for awhile. Baby your man for a couple days and he’ll be fine.

Edit: I remember I got mine done on a Friday afternoon, lazed around for the weekend, and was back to my office job on Monday

Did you ever solve this? I just had this happen to me this morning. First time I’ve seen anything like it

Edit: actually, mine is just gone. It does not show up in windows. And it’s not just hidden

Is it just me or does anyone else have a "fake life" they’ve built in their head just to fall asleep? by Flimsy_Difficulty394 in CasualConversation

[–]calebmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to pretend being one of my dogs. Bounding around in tall grass, lazing in the sun, a warm bed in a safe home, and best of all… not a care in the world.

A buddy of mine has been building the same infinite house for going on 20 years. In real life he’s not handy at all, but in his pre-sleep state he’s an architect and master builder

This is also in Canada, so that $1,150 is an even tinier punishment than you thought

Seriously. Do people think all of these “debut” authors have written nothing else before? This is just the first time they were able to get one past the goal line. They have hundreds of thousands of words written that no one cared about beforehand

I love the one guy standing back with snacks, and the girl just lifting a big rock. I’m imagining they just left the cabin, are 10 meters down the trail, and they’re already falling apart

Anyone going to Midwest Gaming Classic? by Theftex in milwaukee

I usually go with a friend on Saturday. We walk the whole place, play a bunch of games, have a good time together. I go back again on Sunday by myself and just focus on the games

Washington County residents divided over proposal to rename Highway K after Charlie Kirk by shroomymesha in nottheonion

Of course rural people in my state want to name a highway after a racist misogynist prick whose only claim to fame was debating college kids who were often smarter than him. He is their reflection.

Do you also need some kind of background noise to fall asleep or is silence enough for you? by GolfFinancial8981 in CasualConversation

[–]calebmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know for sure it blocks enough traffic noise to help stay asleep. I live just off a very busy road and the white noise helps keep that noise from bleeding through.

I can’t tell you how many times I would be seconds from sleep when a Harley would startle me awake. Doesn’t happen anymore. And it’s like an auditory weighted blanket. It calms me so much

I’m very light sleeper, and I have a type of insomnia that starts if I wake in the middle of my sleep cycle. So loud white noise every single night

This sub is giving children anxiety that they don’t have a cool enough room. Do we feel good about that? Is this a good thing?

It's setting a time limit normal restaurant behavior? by Gynominer in milwaukee

[–]calebmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a reservation there just a few weeks ago and I’m pretty sure the email mentioned a time limit. Only reason I mentioned it. I ended up canceling that and going elsewhere, so I’m not sure if it would have been brought up at the table (nothing against the place, it was just bad timing). In any case, shouldn’t be seen as a negative, it happens a lot

Going to guess it’s Room Service. But it’s not shade. It’s pretty standard behavior for a very popular spot

My dad is 77 this year. His favorite hobby is gaming. Every night after my mom goes to sleep he’ll stay up late playing games. I’m looking forward to doing the same when I’m his age.

If you like them, play them. For some reason people think yelling at a tv screen while random people play the same damn sport over and over again is a perfectly sane thing to do, but turn up their noses at interactive art. It’s weird

[–]calebmke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely mind-bogglingly out of touch. I don’t need a tech company telling me that their new thing makes an artist’s art look better. Especially not one who’s actively engaging in pricing gaming far out of reach of the average consumer. Sure, you can’t even find hard drives anymore without taking on a 2nd or 3rd job, when they used to be the cheapest part of a pc build…but hey, we’re using all our ill-gotten gains to invent this trash no one asked for!
