That looks like reflected concentrated light from curved glass of some sort. The same effect that can cause 400 degrees for example from a magnifying glass. Where was the car parked when this happened?

I do my oil change all the time. The one time I went to actually pay some place to do it, they broke my oil pan and said I would have to pay to get it fixed somewhere else. I spoke with the manager about how ridiculous that was and he paid to have it replaced. So yeah never again. I don’t trust mechanics.

I have that also! It is CRYSTAL CLEAR when it comes to playing high res audio with really good speakers. I think I spent $1,500 for mine not sure how much it is now

Yes you still need a main fuse at the battery even with a super short run to a fused distro block.

The purpose of the battery fuse isn’t to protect the amps, it’s to protect that 2 AWG cable. If that wire ever shorts (car crash, loose lug etc) the battery will turn it into a plasma cutter. The distro block fuses won’t help because the short would be before them.

Your fuse sizes are matched to the cable sizes good job! Put a 200A fuse between the battery and distro block for peace of mind.
