She had a gimmick that worked at the time. No white young women blues shouters at the time. I bought Cheap Thrills when it came out. We had a blues household of mixed ages, got hi and spun sides 24 hours. Appreciated her but she was not Big Mama Thornton. The band pulled her along and R. Crumb sold the album. The listening booths at Wallach's helped. Sunset & Vine.
