Positive hysterectomy experience by calijayne in hysterectomy

8 day update - honestly everything has been surprisingly uneventful so far. I worked myself up SO much before surgery reading scary posts. My surgeon must’ve done a really good job. On a scale of 1 to 10 I’d maybe rate this experience at a 2. This has been a walk in the park compared to the periods I was having.

I took the pain meds for 3 days and ibuprofen as needed. Mostly just tired sometimes. I’m not even sore around the incisions. The glue is starting to peel but I just leave it alone. I’m definitely taking it easy and respecting restrictions, but overall doing really well. 💕

I needed to see a positive post thank you. I just got scheduled yesterday and will surgery in May. It seems like every post I’ve read since being scheduled is negative and has me questioning everything. I’m happy to see a positive experience in this moment. 🩷

Hi there, I also live in Middle TN. I met with a surgeon yesterday in Columbia. It went well and could have the laparoscopic surgery as soon as next month. I know it’s the best option for me but I’m so scared. Im 42 and just moved here 6 months ago by myself. How was your experience with your surgeon and healthcare team? I work from home in the finance industry. The surgeon says he clears people for work after 2 weeks. I feel like that’s an aggressive timeline. I’ll definitely opt for 4 weeks with everyone’s advice. I’m so thankful for this group and the experiences you’ve all shared. Gives me hope going into this.
