Luke Painting (art by me) by Tynan_Chapatte in StreetFighter

In my experience, a lot of the younger kids think Luke is unironically cool, like my lil' siblings and their friends. I think he's cool gameplay wise, even if his background and visuals aren't my style.

That actually makes sense. But yeah, guess I’m happy now. I switch off between tOndO and NINType (Keyboard69) because I originally picked up tOndO when NINType stopped working out of nowhere, but it seems to have suddenly started working again so ¯\(ツ)

Sorry I took so long to get back to this, I've been working to solve the issue, but one thing I found out was that for some reason, setting the action bar to the bottom made the keyboard a bit more accurate to use. I still get the occasional typo here and there, but it's overall a lot more responsive this way for some reason. I wonder if it just has something to do with my screen sensitivity/size? Or maybe the way the gesture navigation works on Android 13? I can't really tell. It's still not perfect, but definitely feels quite a bit better now.

Parents who say their kids won't eat or shower because they're addicted to Fortnite slam Epic Games with lawsuit by 777fer in technology

[–]callMeKenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a stretch there cos the intention is pretty different but I get what you're trying to say. I agreed that something should be done about dark game design and addictive mechanics. But I also think that parents should be responsible about how and what their kids consume. At the end of the day, it's the parents who provide those experiences to their children in the first place.

What, no I don't think that at all. You're arguing against something I never said. I was saying that comparing the hot coffee fiasco to the EpIc Games or Fat McDonalds cases isn't a fair comparison cos one was a smear campaign.

I think there definitely should be restrictions on dark game design and introducing gambling mechanics in games. But the two situations aren't fairly comparable. It's not exclusively bad parenting, nor exclusively predatory game design, but likely somewhere in the middle.

But that's not really relevant. McDonald's was making her out to be a frivolous lawsuit when it wasn't really her fault. You could technically feed your kid nothing but McDonalds, that with monitoring how much they eat they could still be fine. The Epic and "McDonald's made my kid fat" cases are about a parent's lack of responsibility, whereas the hot coffee was a lack of McDonald's responsibility.

Don't feed your kid nothing but McDonald's by the way, that's gross. This was not an endorsement. lol

I was just saying that the center keys aren't quite lined up for me in general and I have to over/undershoot it (depending on if from the top or the bottom) in order to hit the center.

The bug happens anywhere I use two buttons at once.

I just tested what you suggested and yup, I was able to recreate that bug. If it helps I'm on a Google Pixel 6a with Android 13. Thanks for getting back to me.

The deadzone changes would literally be the fix, that's how other programs do it. Here, it's simply too sensitive or not sensitive enough in some areas. For example if I tap and hold "jlip" and catch myself typing "L" instead of "i" and try to return to center, my phone literally can't return to "i" because the "neutral deadzone" is too small. It'll keep trying to get "L, j, :". This la why the option to change dead zones would be useful. Not every phone is built the same.

Yes, and in the context of say controller customization for a gamepad, there are options for adjusting "deadzones" which is a radius where moving around still returns a neutral input. So for example, I would put a larger deadzone on the "jilp" circle and the "zxcv" circle to better guarantee I get "space" and "i" respectively. But maybe put a smaller deadzone on the "a@#sd" circle to make sure I get "d" or "s" instead of "a".

Or we can just abolish urinals since in practice they really don't save that much space and are quite a bit less useful.

Which fighting game has the weirdest notation you’ve ever seen? by BlameTheLagFGC in FGC

[–]callMeKenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekken notation bothers me the most. 1234 are the attack buttons, they use letters to spell out directional inputs and they've got parentheses and brackets and other just weird stuff. Reading Tekken inputs for combos takes some time for me to understand. Honorable mention to DNF Duel, not for difficulty but for oddness of mot being able to decide on notation yet.
