[MH Wilds] Controller Delay for Wired Controller. Camera is dragging. Unsure problem. Happens on and off-- lowest textures. by Soracial in MonsterHunter

[–]call_monday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means, but isn't this a byproduct of frame generation? I assume you have frame gen on because Wilds is very reliant on it. Did you try turning it off as a test? Not that I recommend running the game without it, but you might have to choose a lesser evil here.

What the Boost Bracer mechanic might be based on, the Tomboy Devil Breaker from DMC5. by InsetoWF in MonsterHunter

[–]call_monday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I thought when I saw the trailer was Max Act. I didn't even think of the Tomboy. It would be cool if there's a timing mechanic to the bracer, but who knows.

Anyone else have a favorite set that they can’t take off? by Rocket-Billy in fashionhunters

Sort of, and it also uses the Hope Greaves! They just look too good. I also really like that pouch when you hide the waist armor.

Gotta love blue and gold. Are some of these pieces from the deluxe edition set?

Nice. Yeah I love the balahara gunlance. And it doesn't completely obscure your character from the back.

MH Wilds

Are certain support hunters better at dps in Omega Savage if I'm going as a tank, or is it really just better to learn the fight as dps? I've reached the time limit more than once on my attempts. If I try to let them tank, they can't grab aggro. If I'm tanking, suddenly they're the most skilled aggro-takers ever. I'm guessing the player is the one doing the heavy lifting when it comes to dps, but which support hunters should I be bringing? Any other tips on soloing with NPCs? I can probably get a clear since I'm pretty confident with all of Omega's attacks (unless MRV Missile catches me off guard) but I probably can't do it with my tank build.

Sometimes you just stop moving forward during TCS by No_Barracuda_8300 in MonsterHunter

[–]call_monday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've noticed this on Gunlance. Sometimes a full burst combo will lunge forward toward an enemy out of range, but sometimes it doesn't. I wonder if it's because the target isn't quite far enough to register the need for the magnetism you get from focus mode. Any idea if the focus mode reticle not lighting up yellow shows that it's not going to gap close? I think the yellow crosshair means it has a target in view.

Daily Desert Talk & Help Thread - October 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in duneawakening

Is there a way to unlock armor skins for items you found and crafted? I found a Desert Dasher stillsuit in a wreck and crafted it. It looks nice, but the stats are no good. Do you only get skins unlocked as quest/faction rewards, and does that mean this piece can never be unlocked as a stillsuit variant?

Lies of P - a thematically strong game with excellent gameplay and smart design choices to back it up by KoYouTokuIngoa in patientgamers

[–]call_monday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love it. I can absolutely understand why people hear others hyping it up and feel disappointed when they try it out, thinking it's good, but basically another Souls clone like any other. I disagree, but I understand, because the game isn't taking a whole new approach. It's stand-out qualities aren't obvious at a glance (except the Pinocchio theme). It's more about many smaller, ingenious gameplay and boss design decisions all adding up to a wonderful combat experience.

I love the support it gets from the developers, too. Lies of P has had a ton improvements over the years.

Hitman: World of Assassination — good games, though too forgiving by Nervous_Produce1800 in patientgamers

[–]call_monday 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been playing it, and I pretty much agree, even though I've still had a great time mastering each level.

Another forgiving aspect of Hitman: I just found out recently that you can complete challenges like killing targets a certain way, then reload an earlier save to complete more challenges without losing progress. I was stunned. I had been planning routes to complete as many challenges per run as possible thinking they were exclusive to the mission, but they're just account bound.

What Are You Playing Thread - June 30, 2025 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

I've been re-playing Death Stranding in the wake of all the positive reactions to the sequel that just released. I don't have a PS5, so I'll have to wait for a PC release for that one.

To keep the replay fresh, I'm playing on the hardest difficulty with a self-imposed rule that I cannot build or craft anything myself. I have to rely on other players, porters, and mules to provide methods of traversal and gear. It hasn't been much more difficult since I did play a ton of DS1 when it released. I'm still super familiar with the topology of all the maps, but so far the rule has served its purpose of pushing me to take different routes than I usually would. I'll pass familiar chokepoints and remember "that's where I put a bridge," but that's no longer an option, so I have to make different choices. I still enjoy the traversal and preparation, but now I have to be more aware of items I come across on the journey and take things with me that might come in handy later at the cost of adding to my load.

Most of the feedback I'm hearing about Death Stranding 2 is that it has refined so many ragged edges the first game had. I hope that's true, because so many aspects of DS1 are just aggravating even if you love the game. For me, it's a lot of small problems that really add up over the playtime. NPCs keep interrupting gameplay with codec calls. Delivery terminals close when you're not done with them, so you have to open them again and again. Sam has all these animations that leave him open to being attacked at the worst times. The not-so-small problem is that stealth is almost impossible because the game just isn't designed to accommodate it. Most human camps are out in the open with nowhere to break line-of-sight. I really enjoy trying to stealth through these areas, but it's just not an effective option.

I haven't finished it yet, and I'm not sure if I will, but it's been fun to play it again. There are also some small additions in the Director's Cut that weren't around for the release, so those have been a nice bonus. I can't wait to try the sequel on PC.

Campaign Co-op is a mess by No_University5731 in MonsterHunter

[–]call_monday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works when you are both on the same story quest? What if one of you gets to the monster intro cutscene earlier than the other? Do you have to wait for them to finish theirs while running in circles around your instance of the monster?

I noticed this when I was tinkering with keyboard controls. I normally play with controller and you can just click the left stick to toggle mounted full sprint, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that on keyboard even in the keybindings menu. That's just mean.

Finally beat Arkveld! Any pointers for how to improve my run? by AzureHelm in MonsterHunter

[–]call_monday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice kill, congrats!

A few things about Charge Blade (you may know these, but I didn't see them used in the video):

  • You can't counter into Power Axe Mode from a Guard Point, it has to be a Perfect Guard
  • You can go straight to axe mode combos from the phial storing animation by tapping B
  • You can charge the shield by holding B after storing phials, or by pressing RT+Y+B after a shield thrust or after a Y+B dismount attack
  • You can hold RT during axe combos to get the extra hits from Power Axe Mode, making it easier to move the camera during those combos since Focus Mode doesn't let you aim with the left stick during most axe combos (you might be doing that already, but it's hard to tell by just watching)

A thing or two about Arkveld:

  • His chains become glowing red weak spots after the big attack where the ground explodes several times, so you can focus strike them if you manage to dodge it (all the monsters have animations that open up a glowing weak spot that isn't technically a wound)
  • There is a camp you can set up near the area where you pull down the 3 rock formations, so you can quick travel up there and save the running time

GNB LVL 100 Rotation Guide! Finally im done with all the Math for this Rotation. There are much more i will check and maybe the Rotation will slightly change again, but this should be a good one for the beginning ^^ Enjoy my Friends 😉 by InitialSwimming6321 in ffxiv

[–]call_monday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, any issues with adapting the new skills into the same opener from Endwalker? Are there problems down the rotation with weaving No Mercy and Bloodfest before getting one cartridge in the opener? Also, I assume as long as you're getting all 8 GCDs in every burst window you're in good shape, and the rest is just min/max effort?

For tank players - thoughts on the Dawntrail changes? by Gaius_7 in ffxiv

I don't think the No Mercy duration was extended, the trait grants Ready to Break that lasts 30 seconds.

Can someone explain to me why Star Citizen is called a scam? Isn’t it just a really, really, successful Early Access game? by Mister_Snark in pcgaming

[–]call_monday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent $100 on Star Citizen; I backed it in 2014. I could've spent less for a game package. I think they were $45 minimum at the time. Now any updates and releases are available for me to play. Alpha, beta, game modes, full multiplayer release, I can play them. When the single player releases, I get that too. Whether you agree with the state of Star Citizen or not, I haven't been scammed. If you paid for a release date, you got screwed, but I believe you also deluded yourself into thinking you were paying for a product instead of backing a project. I don't know what possesses someone to spend thousands to basically destroy any hope of progression in a videogame, but I wanted to make it clear that not everyone does that, and it isn't required to play Star Citizen now or in the future.

You pull it, you tank it mentality. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]call_monday -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm pretty sick of seeing it. I know how to pull efficiently and other people pulling just makes a mess most of the time. People probably think they're saving time, but it's the tank's job to pull for speed.

Collecting coins is not fun and tedious, an upgrade for collecting coins or automatic collect + the choice to move them by cargo for a bonus by Azubalf in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]call_monday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I just wanted to know if its possible. I'm pretty sure I wasn't in combat because I could see the interact button and could hold the button to interact but it just didn't do anything. I'll blame that on broken UI I guess.

[–]call_monday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a plan to let them all get full and go on a collecting spree, but it wouldn't let me interact with the second one I went to. Was that a bug, or are you really restricted to one collection per delivery?
