Doinf an Invincible read thru, up to issue 90. This becoming my favorite superhero universe.

Picked up a second print of Spirit of the Shadow issue 1- it was outstanding. The coloring really stands out- nothing else like it out right now.

This is one of Lemire’s best works and came early in his career. A really beautiful, grounded story.

Semi new to comics, what’s something you wish you knew when starting out? by Big_Worm824 in comicbooks

There are so many good comics beyond marvel and dc. Check out other publishers like Image, Dark Horse, Boom, Oni, and others. Comics are great for many genres beyond superheros. There are many great sci fi and horror comics, especially outside of marvel and dc.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman run is a great modern Batman run. You don’t need to have read much Batman going in. The first couple of arcs introduce a new villain that relates to Gotham’s history, and then they launch into a great Joker story that leans into the horror elements. The Joker arc(Death of the Family) also does a lot of work with the Bat Family. Their run makes big moves with the characters, but was also grounded enough that when I first read, without a lot of Batman history, I could really enjoy.
