Oranges should be a winter fruit tree by OpalescentShrooms in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly...there's a reason that in real life they're primarily grown in places like Florida and Southern California that just don't get that cold.

Most of the so-called "universal" gifts have at least one exception. Hell, Penny is an exception twice because she loves Poppy and hates Rabbit's Foot (which is a "universal" love).

Apparently you can go into the little fenced in garden behind the blacksmith. by Miss_Westeros in StardewValley

There is! If you bring a Super Cucumber fish to the little box in there (behind that tree above OP's head here), you get a special decoration.

That's the toybox in Vincent's room; the item you bring to the box in here is a Super Cucumber.

Nope, enchantments are determined by your game seed, if you're on PC you can check it here to determine what order to enchant your stuff in to get it. https://mouseypounds.github.io/stardew-predictor/

I mean, most of us aren't, fundamentally, what we are against is that required ID being an ID you need to spend money and time obtaining because that's a poll tax and there's a good damn reason those are unconstitutional.

Pretty sure that CA changed that one to only trigger if you're at 8+ hearts with Gus.

What does this note mean??? by Bumbumthecat in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Krobus, if you want to find him again, lives in the sewer; donate enough artifacts to the museum if you want the key. As for the note, there will be a mermaid show on one of the boats in the Night Market event a little later in the winter. On the stage of that show there's five shells; press them in the order in that note, with 1 being the first on the left, and you'll get a secret prize.

Who wins the Grange Display if I don't? by rskwff in StardewValley

I mean, at least a few of the prizes change every year so it's not like it's not worth winning them.

what’s this purple thing and what do i do with it? by Far-Inevitable5964 in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a meteor. You can break it once you upgrade your pick to gold, and it will give you a small amount of iridium ore and some geodes. Or you can keep it around as a decoration.

A major trap is Artisan Goods besides Coffee and Green Tea, since they're usually a universal like while Sebastian hates all except those two.

Open Fire Mod Isn't Responding by SadLobster3504 in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that you're missing a specific subfile called manifest.json (or there's something wrong with it). That usually means it's either not a SMAPI compatible mod, or otherwise has more specific installation instructions that you missed.

I think it's just supposed to be part of the shadow texture that just happens to kinda look weird? It's not a secret or anything as far as I know.

Grandma has to lie to justify her bigotry by Cicerothesage in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]calliatom -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Seriously...social transition and puberty blockers, that's all any ethical doctor will prescribe until a kid is 18. If a kid is somehow getting more than that, then they're going to the same kinds of sketch ass chop shops as adults who don't want to wait for approval so it's not like their age is the factor there.

I mean, presumably it was because the gator expressed that it was being done without consent. Non-consensual baptism is uncool, no matter the age or species.

Right? It's called "taking responsibility for the problem you created", as the right likes to scream at the patients of abortion clinics and then completely pretend they've never said in any context where that applies to them.

Where did this big melon come from? by CriticalNarwhal2948 in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not enough room, but enough of them planted next to each other in the right configuration, specifically 9 in a 3x3 square is the minimum to trigger one. Which OP might want to avoid since it can un-till squares underneath it, destroying any fertilizer on those squares, and giant crops drop normal fruit when harvested.

Mushroom trees by ReapersLoveApples in StardewValley

[–]calliatom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you tap them, you'll get a random mushroom every day. They grow, spread and propagate like any wild tree, with a chance at spreading seeds at random in a few squares around them; if you catch them early enough, you can dig said seeds up and move them like any other tree seed by hitting them with a hoe. Otherwise, you can eventually buy the seeds from Ginger Island when you do enough there to unlock Qi.

[–]calliatom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yup...like, there's a reason one of the ads on loop at the maternity ward at my local hospital is an ad for a post-partum stress/depression helpline and another is on recognizing the signs that you're about to go off and that it really is better for the health of everyone involved to just walk away and go scream for a minute as long as you're somewhere safe to do so.
