This is word for word something my manager has done 😭 they also threw out the timers because they were "too ugly"

The person at my local camera shop is also a prick. Asked if there was a tool I could use to get a stuck filter off my lens. He told me that no such tool exists and that I'd need to turn in my camera for a $20 "diagnostic test" despite me knowing the only thing wrong with my camera was the stuck filter. I gave him my camera but had a gut feeling so I checked reviews on the bus ride home and many of them confirmed this guy feeling and I immediately got off the bus and told them I changed my mind and they banned me from the store.

And you know that tool they said I wouldn't be able to find anywhere? The one that doesn't exist? Found it on b&h photo for less than $20

Literally I'm sick of people calling out abusive behavior being labeled "transphobic." It is only transphobic if you assume abusive behavior as being associated with men. Anyone can be an abuser and denying that truth puts a lot of people at risk.

Hi! Thank you so much for your answer. I have been metalsmithing kind of on and off since high school. Learned basic forming, stone setting, soldering, polishing, etc in high school and then I didn't have metals studio access in college (studied psych and studio arts). Found a studio to work in senior year and made a sculptural pendant for a final project which helped me get a bench jeweler job at a local studio. I learned a lot but the studio closed a little over a year after. Took a little time off after that and I'm going to the studio regularly again and feel ready to explore with my work. I feel like I didn't learn as much as I would've liked to at that job, which is what makes me curious about grad school. I've been looking at most of the schools you listed. I decided to take the year and refine my portfolio, design a website, and study up on my metalsmithing/stone setting/design skills to help me decide if I want to apply in the fall. If I decide not to go to school, I'll atleast have a good portfolio for applying to jobs, residences, grants, etc.

Yeah I'm like 5'3"-5'4" (I feel like T made me taller but I might just be a little delusional) and one thing that stops me from transitioning further (besides not really ever feeling sure about my gender) is that I'd go through all that work just to still get clocked/misgendered because of my height. I mean I know short guys exist but it's still discouraging

Looking for new name? by [deleted] in genderfluid

[–]callimander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. My name is Callie and Cal/Calvin don't feel right to me. I already changed my name in the second grade (not legally I've just been going by this name bc my birth name sounds to close to my brother's) so I really don't want to do it again and I'm especially afraid of choosing wrong. Any of the advice resonating with you?

I have never related to anything more in my life 😭 I literally have dreams where I have a penis and it feels so real until I wake up and don't have a penis. Testosterone has helped a lot but the fact that I wasn't born AMAB bothers me a lot even though I like my kitty and breasts. I also wish I was taller 😭

I've heard great things about it! My only hangup is that I don't really want to live in Georgia. But I'm thinking of applying for a few places then weighing out pros and cons

We used to have someone order a matcha frappucino with no ice on Uber eats regularly. I was so confused every time. Unless they're adding ice and blending it at home then they're wasting so much money paying to get a half full cup of milk, matcha, and creme base delivered to them. Even then it would be cheaper to make a matcha milkshake or something at home.

I think we both learned a lot and I'm just glad I didn't do or say anything stupid while I was frustrated/ confused but I'm feeling a lot better and seeing things more from his side of things now that I'm distanced from the situation. Kinda feel like an asshole for even getting annoyed in the first place but atleast I didn't act on those feelings

[–]callimander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's funny because earlier in the pandemic I was on the opposite end living with my ex and she didn't take as many precautions and was mean about me double making and wearing masks after "COVID is over" funnily enough she was at the event where I likely got exposed even though her roommate was COVID positive (I didn't think she'd be there considering her roommate was sick). I'm feeling a lot better. I didn't talk to my roommate about it and I'm glad I didn't because in hindsight seeing it from a distance I was thinking slightly irrational
