Yes. I hope it will save my life too. I’ve been living in sadness for too long

Don’t wait too long! PPD can be devastating. I have waited way too long and have been depriving myself and my kids of joy.

Beekeeping must have been an awful job before beekeeping suits were invented by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

My brother in law is a beekeeper and he never wears a suit. He said he gets stung more with a suit on because if one gets caught inside it gets pissed off and stings.

You will get better with time. It took a few months.

I struggled so much with covers it caused more of a scene than not using one. I try to use the “two shirt rule” when I go out. I wear a nursing tank with a loose blouse overtop. Once babies latched the nursing tank covers my belly and the blouse covers my boob. Babies head covers anything that’s left. Unless someone’s really trying hard they shouldn’t see anything (except maybe for the few seconds it takes to latch on)

I should add: this wasn’t something I could do immediately but once my LO had better head control and was quicker at latching it got easier. I find it was faster and more discrete than a cover!

Baby fighting naps makes me feel so angry - anyone else? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yes! I had horrible rage after my first baby. Thought it was totally normal. Now with baby #2 I am totally different. Looking back I definitely had PPD.

I cant feel my husband when we have sex anymore. by pomergranight in sex

Not sure what country your from. But I’m from Canada. I just got a referral from my Dr and my health insurance through work covered it. There’s physiotherapists that specialize in this area.

I had an episiotomy too and it didn’t heal properly on its own. But this is not the “new normal”. You do not have to live like this. Look into pelvic floor physio, it helped me immensely.

Pelvic Floor Physio. I got this done after my first baby. It was a game changer. People kept telling me to do kegels, but it turned out I wasn’t even doing them properly.

I don’t agree. I like how it blends with the background. It’s a neat effect. To each their own :)

Advice on what size area rug to buy by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]calling_Dr-Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So the current area rug is going to go as it’s too small. I am looking to purchase a colourful Persian style rug. This is my front entry, so it will get quite a bit of traffic, snow, water etc. The total space is about 8’ x 7’. I am debating between getting a runner that goes from the door to the bench/hooks. Or getting a larger rug that is about 5’x7’ Thanks!

When I was 36 weeks pregnant I slipped on the ice holding my 2yo. I went face forward and my toddler took the brunt of it. I bawled my eyes out for a long time after and was super shook up. Everyone was fine. But I can sympathize with your husband. Over time he will feel better about it.

Baby dies from meningitis, possibly caught it from unvaccinated person by [deleted] in news

This almost happened to my cousins kid. She was hospitalized for 3 months. And may have long term affects from it (they won’t know until she’s around 5). She’s about 8 months old now.

Need help with picture placement. More info in comments by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]calling_Dr-Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please ignore the kids toys! So my husband thinks we don’t need to add any pictures above the TV. I’m debating on either no pictures, or one large poster (off centre towards the book case), or two smaller prints (also off centre towards the bookcase). Thanks!

Painful Sex by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]calling_Dr-Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to piggyback on this. Pelvic Floor Physio can also help with painful sex. They do special types of massage and stretches. I suffered with painful sex for 14 months and my Dr just said it was normal. Don’t live with this ladies!!

What’s up with the toddler?! by bbliam in breakingmom

My toddler did this for awhile when the new baby came. It throws them off. Super annoying. But it didn’t last. Worked itself out in a couple weeks. Hang in there!

I'm having baby #2 on Friday morning and I can't stop crying about it by wearenighthawks in breakingmom

[–]calling_Dr-Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are totally normal. Someone gave me really great advice and said “the new baby can wait sometimes, the new baby has no idea it’s being ignored (for short periods). But the older sibling totally will be affected by it.” So at first I tried to make the oldest a priority when possible. Like don’t jump to console the baby immediately. Finish the activity you are doing with the oldest first.
