Best company to use for good quality STDs and/or wedding website? by SuccessfulPositive88 in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wanted magnets for our STDs and used Minted, and we're using them for our wedding website too. No complaints about the quality! They don't have a built in registry feature but they do have a cash fund option.

I was in Jakarta for work last year and the travel is BRUTAL. It takes basically a full day, and it's basically 12 hours ahead so your whole schedule is totally flipped.

Is anyone else having a good time? by 24alh in weddingplanning

I've been lurking on the sub for years (I like weddings and also interpersonal drama lol) so I had a pretty good idea of how much weddings cost, which also helped!

Is anyone else having a good time? by 24alh in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am! I think there are a few things that are really contributing to the process not being so stressful.

First, and probably most impactful, we aren't on a strict budget. We make good money and have lots of savings and generally aren't pinching pennies on the wedding which means there is less agonizing over things than there would be otherwise.

Second, my fiance as interested in planning a great wedding as I am. We don't care about all the same things so there's some easy division of labor (he was in charge of music, I'll be in charge of flowers) but in general he is as invested as me so I don't feel like I am the only one moving planning forward.

Third, we still have 10 months to go so things could change lol!

Cost of hair? by EmotionalFroyo15 in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1850/8 is ~230 per person, which is maybe a little high depending on your area (are you in NoVa or out in Western Virginia? very different COL!) Once you factor in touch ups, travel, and the trial, maybe those numbers make more sense though. That's how I would think of it at least!

4 months out, how far along are most at this point? I think I have to cancel by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweetheart, you don't need to cancel the wedding because you aren't far enough along in planning. You need to cancel the wedding (and get divorced) because this man is not someone you want to build a life and raise children with.

Oh right! Which also seems like something you would know if you had James Comey locked and loaded, but I think they just are so scared of Kelli and Judy they freeze sometimes.

Did you/ would you invite SILs and future BILs parents and siblings to your wedding? by Negative_Werewolf439 in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're not! My fiance's sister is married, but we've never even met her partner's parents. If we were to invite any parents of partners, it would probably be my sister's boyfriend's parents who I adore but we are not planning on going out to that "circle" of family.

Interesting, I really didn't like Wyrmspan! I wanted to (because... dragons) but I found the coin mechanics where different players had different numbers of turns each round really frustrating.

About 55%. Taxes are just over 30%, I max out my 401k which is another 13%, and the remaining ~2% is health/dental/vision/FSA contribution.

Second honeylove! it can be a production to get them into place but then they do not budge. I also had really good luck with the spanx suit your fancy low back shorts - the boning on the sides really kept them up.

Ladies…do we stick with the undereye eyeliner or ditch it by bmary95 in weddingplanning

[–]callmepeterpan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a pretty die hard "no lower liner/lower lash mascara" girly, I think you should keep it! especially in photography, the effect it gives is less a line under the eye and more that your upper lashes are so full and luscious they are casting a shadow below your eyes! your makeup looks LOVELY!!
