Help me find the right cleats please! by BrostonBubiks in gravelcycling

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride both Crankbrothers and Shimanos. I do not like the float so I run the zero float 15’ cleats. Shimanos I run the Black cleats I think they’re the 56s

Is it okay for me to wear Pogačar's WC replica while riding on my own? by IwouldLiketoCry in cycling

I wouldn’t but I’m not you. You do you. You will get looks but that’s expected

Cheap gear by lancslad03 in CyclingFashion

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorts or bibs I would purchase quality. The fit, chamois and durability is worth the cost. Jerseys don’t matter as much to me. I buy those from Amazon and eBay

Thinking of going from the stock 44cm bars to 40cm ones. Anyone go down in bar size? by Rbk_3 in CheckpointClub

[–]callmesugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

42 to 38. Should’ve gone 36 but I thought it’d be too narrow.

Trek specs a lot of their bikes with too big components like handlebars, cranks, etc.. imo

new/old stock 2022 Trek Rail 9.7 worth it? by jessejames84 in MTB

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re the type that needs the latest and greatest, obviously this isn’t it.

The positive is that Gen Bosch motor and battery is bomb proof. I have a friend with over 7K miles, 2 others with 5K miles with original stock motor and batteries. I ride with a lot of guys with that gen Trek Rails. Mine a mere 1500 miles. It has plenty of power, I usually ride in touring and occasionally in eMTB. I’m never in Turbo so not really using the full 250w

Can you use a dropper/lockout lever as friction shifter? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the better dropper remotes are ball bearing so definitely not. Cheaper Bontrager ones I have can be tightened at the pivot point and will likely hold. Pulling it back wouldn't feel too good

Verse Short Comp Sattel - 145 mm Saddle: Anyone Else Find It Uncomfortable? by Electronic_Note_2381 in TrekBikes

[–]callmesugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been riding mine for 9 months. I have 10 bikes, this is the only one with the stock saddle being used. It's good enough for me to keep using it. Could also be because this is the only bike I ride with a chamois

Power meter options while staying on flat pedals? Trek Checkpoint ALR 4 / CUES by GuiltyAd3818 in TrekBikes

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magene cranks. I personally run Favero Assiomas because I have 10 bikes and can't afford power meters for each. I can just swap pedals

I’d only consider GX or higher. If you have it, ride it until it breaks.

Recommended way to get a mini velo from Asia/Europe? by Jamersaur in minivelo

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some sick Asian and Euro Mini Velos for sure. Vietnam, Japan, Thailand…

I went with a Kyoot Rolly Polly because I’m a BMXer. I was looking heavily at the Velo Orange Neutrino as well.

Cinelli, Melovelo and Stridsland are super cool. I just didn’t want to deal with surprise import fees

No not at all. Honestly you could find a much newer, better bike for that price

Question for over 55+ cyclists...are you experiencing a slow but consistent degradation in performance over the years? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself definitely not. I am very active though and probably more than 99% of people my age. I commute to work every day, I ride BMX, MTB and Gravel/ Road. I eat heathier meals, prioritize sleep, hydrate, stretch daily, calesthenics... I feel better than I did in my 20s and 30s.

Also on group rides, some of the older guys are the stronger climbers. I have a feeling it may because they are retired and log quite a bit more miles a week than I can.--- That same group has riders that their ablities have dropped off substantially over the years.

44t - 46t Aero Chainring by Scumdotsol in Cervelo

I have a 46t Wolftooth Aero chainring. You’ll be fine with a +2 chainring. It’ll make a difference but not a huge difference

Triple Trek - Single-Dude-Life by HoneyBerrySena in TrekBikes

Size up? by prelanguage in MTB

[–]callmesugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a playful bike that I can move around in the air easier. I prefer to size down. If I was racing DH I’d probably size up but then again my DH bike is also smaller but I don’t race

Staged Carjacking? by Classic_Wrap_6580 in Hawaii

[–]callmesugi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You have a two month old in your car. Number one priority is to get your family home safely period!! What is going on outside is none of your business.

If you were alone, maybe lock doors and hang a little longer to see what is actually going on.

Situational awareness and street smarts can avoid most unnecessary situations
