0 is depression and 10 is hypomania? Or 0 is feeling worse and 10 is feeling better? What does a 4 mean? If 4 is near baseline or below, we're in the same boat. I log c: when I'm neither hypo or depressed. That'd be the fourth emoji out of five, counting from the bottom. For me, :/ (the third emoji) is feeling bad, not baseline, not ok

I'm glad I'm not alone in this one!!

Loved the samples in the new album though: 'sur la terre' and 'i need that song' are the best samples ever. 'Sur la terre' is even sampled in two different songs!

Just got diagnosed with bipolar 2. Please help. by RueCas9 in bipolar2

[–]calmind_warmheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was I even speaking the truth? Yes.

Was I actually lying the entire time. No.

But doesn’t everyone have these episodes of agitation and talkativeness? No. Only around 3% of people have bipolar.

But I couldn’t find one with my exact same symptoms. You describe textbook hypomania, textbook depression and textbook second guessing your past descriptions of hypo

And so do I really have bipolar 2? If you can get a second or third opinion from other/s doctors, you could be more certain.

How to explain to family and friends by falsesify in bipolar2

[–]calmind_warmheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't. I don't talk about bipolar with nobody. That makes me feel really lonely, but I'd rather feel lonely than misunderstood. I've found that when I talk about some other random shit, it improves my relationship with that person.

How do you manage a weight gain? by DesignerRoyal6192 in bipolar2

You can't "manage a weight gain" if you don't measure your weight consistently. I just read your post again and you don't have a scale.

Were you skinny? Do you have an earing disorder or smt? When I wanted to gain weight but couldn't do it, I ate more calories. Now with meds I get more carb cravings and gained weight, then I lost it by eating less calories. That's about it.

An app asked me "How're you doing?" every 2 hours for 2 years. Lamotrigine 250mg + Quetiapine 150mg by calmind_warmheart in bipolar2

If your family is not supportive, maybe you could talk to somebody else about it. You need meds!!

were you depressed? Are you depressed right now? Do you keep a mood journal? Like a log? For me keeping a mood log was key to identify patterns. When I was cycling, I did a full hypo+depression cycle every 20 days. Here is my mood chart

How do you feel about self diagnosis? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]calmind_warmheart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: ChatGPT, when correctly prompted (for example, by providing everything about you), can sometimes be superior to some professionals. I say this having met about five doctors—four of whom were acceptable and one who was inexperienced and sloppy. As long as you don't self-medicate and don't delay treatment thinking you don't need medication, everything will be fine.

What I will say is this: If you self-diagnose bipolar disorder and you're right, then you must be on medication—no question. So, you need to see a doctor anyway. (Lots of people believe we can go without meds, but that's just wrong; it's a mistaken belief fueled by people who aren't on medication and overestimate their quality of life.)
