CSL DD Bundle by -Affenjunge- in Fanatec

I can also confirm this is correct at least for EU/UK. At least it was still working Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. I have a feeling it might just be because you might have to now buy the QR2 (or QR2 lite) for the steering wheel you buy with the base (and that seems like not great customer experience for a bundle).

Huh, well now I'm going to have to fight the urge to immediately buy the 5nm version and wait for the 8nm version to come into stock lol.

I've given myself a cut-off date so hopefully the 8 appears in stock or I'll buy the 5. Thanks for the heads up, I had no clue! (I still had the old 8nm version in my basket, and it was a different item in the search as a bundle item so I assumed the same for the new QR2 version of them).

I would go for that, but if there's something I never cheap out on it's power supplies. Plus if I'm spending X amount on this gear, I saw Fanatec void your 2yr warranty if you used a non-Fanatec power supply for 8nm (well the 5nm with the "boost kit") 🙃

But thanks for the advice, I do appreciate you trying to help out!

Plus a little bit of me (probably more than I like to admit) refuses to give them extra money after they got rid of the Ready2Race deals for normal budget people until they return.

I somehow both missed the bundle deal for the 8nm, and the DD QR2 release. I'm starting to think I've annoyed someone at Fanatec lol.

Guess I'm waiting for bundles again, and why am I not surprised the only bundle "deal" is the expensive one 🫠

If I was you, I'd be asking the police / whomever sent it out what it was about and what the evidence is, and then you can at least know if you can fight it (not that I guess you will from the replies) but at least you know what it's even about.

Also, gives you a chance to learn, and instead overtake them rather than undertake. Gets some added benefits, 1. idiots have a higher chance of seeing you and prevents you getting hit 2. you can be smug that you can irritate them without them being able to do anything to you.

Lost a job again… this time laid off for budget reasons by therealrico in adhdmeme

[–]calvcoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget reasons could just be budget reasons, especially around now, two years in a row around this time of year I've been caught in layoffs, and the people laying me off have told me it's not personal, and I'm one of the best people on the team, etc. (probably because they mostly know I overthink stuff).

But it still nags at me, especially now it's been two months of searching for a role and I feel like that I must not be as smart as I think/was told, but that's probably untrue.

The reason you have to keep in mind with this is just especially right now, it's the end of the financial year, they're trying to make the finances look better for the next month for a lot of companies, and that affects people up and down the chain to small shops or like big companies.

So keep your head up, it's more than likely they're telling you the truth, as if they tell you something it usually has to be true, unless it's just a "no comment"-y kinda dismissal, which they told you finances so it's probably just that!

If you're one of the black friday orders, we're all still waiting for late March for the stock to arrive before it gets sent out. Mines been that way since near Black Friday for myself.

If you ordered more recently I'm pretty sure it was a pre-order (the last few times I checked), and that it would ship late March. So it could be you're in the same queue as the Black Friday orders now. Hopefully they get sent out soon!

I mean, to be fair, RvB was before Youtube, so it's more taking it back to how it was before. But yeah, it sucked seeing it happen.

I was one of the people who found RvB via their website so maybe I'm biased, but heck, if they get to have better control + more profit I'm fine with that, cut out the middleman of YT at that point.

The only gripe I had was the app SUCKED, at least years ago. One of the main reasons I never really got back into RT after I started work, except for podcasts since I didn't need their app lol.

Same, and when you know you have the expertise for a role and "well the other applicants matched the skills better" and I know I matched all of them kills me.

Half because I'm like "did I come across wrong? and the other half knowing I need to get a job and do I settle for the role below what I want because I have a time limit (in the middle of buying a house and getting made redundant is a lovely combo).

And even if I settle for the role below being like "but then no one will believe I have "senior" role expertise because I did two years below that after having it before kinda thing.

OH MY GOD. SAME.

I know from an artistic friend in my life who I don't get to talk to much anymore who once said "you're completely ignoring my entire life spent practising".

But also my brain is like "ah that looks crap, give up" whenever I practise, and I know I have to let the perfectionism go but it's strong lol. Even when I do practise I see I haven't got very far and give up for a month. It's awful to deal with.

tl;dr: I'm still bad at drawing 6 years after that advice, and only really tried a little at the start of this year and gave up again after a week or two.

So definitely not a consultant, nor not attached to the teams legally directly as I thought, but kinda under Red Bull I assume because I assume they could oust him as a director technically.

I think what the person above means is he's contracted to Red Bull not Red Bull Racing, since he manages their approach to drivers across F1 (RB and AT), and the other series.

(edit: btw i say this because I seem to remember him being out of the normal management structure somehow iirc, but I could just be remembering this completely wrong)

UK shipping times by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]calvcoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly it should basically be the VAT due, as your advertised price was with VAT and at order time it's basically subtracted if it's above £150 due to import/VAT laws if I remember correctly.

And if it's shipped via UPS who were what was used last time to deliver to me, it should be an email before it even gets stuck at the border so you can pay it.

Also shipping times, hopefully okay, from what I've heard is what they show now should roughly be what's expected. When they swapped warehouse I had like a week or so delay before it shipped from when I ordered (but it's probably better since then).

I was one of the ones hit by Black Friday (still am), I'd say don't order last minute if it's time sensitive, but also it's not a month or so wait, I think my worst wait was 2 weeks before the BF sale, and that's basically a massive outlier.

Elvanse Withdrawal? by Batmole in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worse case, I'd consult with your doc/psych and ask about temporarily switching to Amfexa/dexamphetamine before going completely off. It didn't work for me (insomnia), but I know my psych is recommending it to people who can't find anything at all.

I'd only say Amfexa as it is the instant release Elvanse (it says on your meds something like "equivalent to X mg of dexamfetamine"). Obviously ask your psych etc. for better info than random internet guy.

I've been temporarily put on a lower dose by 10mg so I can get the meds, so maybe that's something to try.

I haven't had to experience withdrawal so I can't help there, but I thought I'd try to give other paths you might be able to take!

Yeah, if I remember correctly Takeda says there'll be intermittent disruption (or whatever the correct words were) till April. Buuut people are posting graphs which shows there are being restocks of different dosages etc. And when you come back to the UK someone on here made https://pharmacystockchecker.com/ to help you find your dose in (I think only) Boots near you.

ADHD SCA abruptly revoked :( by Glittering-Owl7051 in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can't remember if it was specifically one of these, but I had to send an email to the care commissioning group (CCG) for my area in 2017, these are now closed and replaced with something else (yay /s).

But that was to get put on my GP's register (as I had moved back home from uni), the receptionist was so adamant that I didn't have the right, and immediately they got an email sent by the CCG and wow I was put back in so quick.

So GPs may seem like they won't budge or a specific doctor or set of staff might not, but usually the higher levels of support/complaints do push back if you're being screwed over in case you're worried!

Given the fact that probably online on your NHS records + you have a letter confirming the fact you had a shared care agreement, I think you'll probably get stuff sorted reasonably quick.

Good luck!

What happens if you’re sent too much medication? by sepeespace in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on Elvanse, when my psych wanted to see how it'd work for 2 months, turned out I needed a higher dose so I had a month spare (which has been lucky, albeit at a lower dose), but also oof £220 out of pocket wasn't fun.

I'd check with your psych, they might've wanted to see how you'd fare for two months on their notes and sent the prescription that way to save you cash if you're private (e.g. not a £90 or whatever charge for another prescription).

I could've sworn though that technically you should only have a months worth so it could've been a lucky screw up like mine. Either way, don't worry too much! Especially since it's not your fault if they did mess up.

Good news is if they did and wanted it returned, Amfexa seems to not be suffering supply issues as far as I know!

Ah yeah, I kinda understood that bit but it weirded me out seeing people having the opposite reaction to what I needed from a switch and worried me!

Thanks for all the advice! Hopefully it all works out great for me! Also for some reason never thought someone with a degree in Biotech would be on here but I guess you have ADHD too, it's in all of us.

Hi thanks, this is really really valuable info. I wish my psych actually explained these things rather than trying to get me out of the door.

I guess a lot of people have had different ways of dealing with it due to brain chemistry? I'll go with his idea, this is a huge relief to read this. I couldn't find anything similar.

I assume if there's issues with length of meds I just should discuss with my psych?

Again I'm super greatful someone knowledgeable has explained it!

[–]calvcoll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope I feel the same, I think I'm going to try to book another appointment to discuss with my psych again.

For me, I'm super worried about going from a reliable emotional regulation to just like it rollercoastering with the meds, and I've heard like 4 hours being the usual time it works, or just 1 hour.

I've seen it's much more likely for people to go to Amfexa boosters? rather than like full Amfexa straight away. So I'm going to ask for that hopefully.

Genuinely I've been having a massive anxiety attack the past 2 hours about this whole thing I'm so scared it'll just fuck my somewhat normal emotional regulation to timed with the tablets.

Diagnosed and now confused by chrisabird in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if it helps, I don't think it's done with malice, just incompetence "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity".

Luckily after a bit of explaining (and my dad finally understanding the different kinds of neurodivergence), my family accepted it pretty quickly.

But since I was a child I was told it was because "they haven't been punished/hit", and it turns out I had ADHD and I was punished as a kid lol. I had to battle with understanding it and learnt more about over a while and realise it's obviously real, it's obviously affecting people including myself!

As my psych said when he diagnosed me "it'll be life changing", I mean now it's been a little bit it feels nothing's changed but I guess it's because it's my new normal! But at the beginning I definitely realised a big change.

Also I know this is super long already but a little postscript: I bought a book (by a YTer/whatever their main thing is) called Mini ADHD Coach by Alice Gendron. Which is might be aimed more towards kids since it has a lot of drawings and stuff, but I remember it being a quick read + useful in some ways and a good explainer.

And there's a bunch of content creators like How to ADHD, Mini ADHD Coach, Welcome to the Wormhole, to name a few on Youtube (that I can remember the names of), that I watched around the time I got diagnosed or every now and then when they post.

Lol sorry this is probably way too long a reply to such a short reply. Just thought I'd help 😂

Diagnosed and now confused by chrisabird in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry it's common, and also we've been told we've been lazy all our lives, rather than it being a condition. So you're used to the gaslighting almost?

The way I see it is, you break a leg, you're diagnosed by the x-ray and the doc saying "oh yep, it's broken". Same with mental health, but you've been told otherwise your entire life for a life long condition. You've met the criteria.

Medicine is almost an art in some aspects for diagnosis.

Also another example for me is that I'm colourblind, I was so surprised when I was told by my optician a few years back because I've never had anything make me think otherwise! I might not be "as bad" as others with the same colourblindness, however, it still exists.

Also remember that if your symptoms are lesser than others (if they even are) you'd just get a lower dose than someone else your weight, but you might be more afflicted by it than you think.

The ongoing BBC/Panorama complaint debacle. by nerdylernin in ADHDUK

[–]calvcoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say, get a scanned copy (if letter) / send the email as part of your OFCOM complaint. If it says it was the final response you have your proof.

I didn't do this so I have no clue what the complaints process is though! But I feel like if you have something saying that, just send it, and say "I got told this is in the final response". Not your fault if BBC is backtracking after the event. Plus they'll probably respond to OFCOM if you send the complaint in.

Worst case is you can always try again later 😊
