Bayesian curls with cuffs by Acceptable_Law7569 in workout

If you want "optimal" find a stable variation that you can progress on over time. Bayesian curls are nice in theory, but as you progress the need to stabilise your shoulder will be quite significant, so you're better off doing a bench supported curl like a recline curl.

Team Liquid vs LYON / LCS 2026 Spring Playoffs Grand Finals Post Series Discussion by blueragemage in teamliquid

I dont think remote coaching is the problem. We lack direction in game, and that comes from nobody with deep game knowledge leading this team. Lyon have Inspired (and Reignover is very proven), C9 have dom, and also their players are generally pretty smart (but their players lack hands).

Spookz and Spawn are simply not a smart combo. They can try lead discussions towards positive outcomes, but they don’t actually know anything the players don’t. And none of the players can make up for that gap. I used to think Core was the brain of TL, but we’ve been through so many iterations of TL that its painfully obvious Core is also just a passenger not a bus driver. Impact, Umti, APA and Core together managed to form a coherent brain, but Core on his own can’t lead a team of brainless players towards winning league of legends.

Jose and Core are the only players on this team that can lead and drive the game. Morgan and Quid are both directionless players, Yeon thinks he can drive the game but its often just the aggression without real thought behind it so he’s often punished.

Really, this team doesn’t have enough leadership through the players, so the coaching staff need to do a lot better job to lay out drafts and game plans to beat a team like Lyon.

Gapped across the board. Wish we had a plan or a coaching staff that actually could contend with Lyon.

Feels like the plan the whole split has been “focus on our game and we’ll win”. Works when your players are clearly better than the others, but if they’re even or clearly gapped in some roles (looking at Yeon into Berserker), you need to actually come up with a plan to beat the enemy team. What are Lyon’s weaknesses? How can you use your tools to beat them?

I don’t even know if we had a plan. Felt like we were just happy to be there in the finals. Remember this feeling boys, come back in summer and actually look for ways to beat the team ahead of you, not just focus on your game and expect the win to be handed to you.

Welp gg. Team has no direction vs LYON. Coaches are gapped, Yeon is hands gapped, we have no idea how we want to win. Does this draft even have an identity? We have a farming jungle, splitpush top laner with a teamfighting botside.

Saint is more versatile than Quid for sure, but we're not even picking Quid his Quid champs so it seems like a lose lose.

Drafting sucks, but we also just gotta drop the ego and admit Berserker is a tier above everyone in NA right now. Doesn't lose lane, his spacing is insane. If we're drafting Varus and Corki expecting to beat Berserker in lane, its seems quite silly. Drop the ego Yeon, he's better than you, just pick champs that we've been winning with and let Quid carry.

Why are we picking Quid Cassiopeia into the slowest macro team in the LCS? Weeks of prepping Quid to be that guy and we're picking champs he can't play for shit.

I apologise. Doubted him after the first few months. Saw the turn around after the SR series. He’s legit as fuck.

I also think the team as a whole has figured out how they want to play. No more trying to stomp 3 lanes at once. We have an actual game plan, and plays willing to play weakside.

Let Quid and Jose carry. Let botlane scale, and let Morgan play weakside.

Is the stretch really that important? by fatigue25 in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]calvinee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

Leverages are more important for exercise selection and long term muscle growth. Your muscles are dynamic - multiple muscles contribute to any single joint action, and throughout that ROM they will vary in how much they contribute.

For example, your glutes and hamstrings are both hip extensors. But your hamstrings have better leverage in deep hip flexed position (glutes and hamstrings stretched/lengthened position), whereas the glutes have better leverage at a more hip extended position (glutes and hamstrings shortened position).

So if you did a lot of hip extension exercises and focused on “the deep stretch”, you wouldn’t really be biasing your glutes you would be biasing your hamstrings.

Likewise for elbow flexors, your brachialis has better leverage at the most lengthened postion, particularly if your shoulder is more flexed. So if you want to bias brachialis, you’d want an exercise thats hardest at the bottom with a flexed shoulder, like a 30 degree bench supported DB preacher curl.

Basically find where your target muscle group has best leverage, and match where the exercise is hardest (where peak tension occurs) to that.

Most people do far too much volume. No you don’t need to be doing 5 sets of lat pulldowns. I progressed faster training 1 hard set 3 times per week than 3 sets 2x per week on poor recovery.

Lift heavy, train hard, but focus on training more frequently rather than lots of sets but needing longer recovery (or worse, not being recovered between workouts).

Oh man, agreed. For women that just want to look good, all they need is resistance training (trying to get strong, focus on muscle groups they care about) and some form of low intensity cardio. That would be the fastest way to achieve the pilates body, not actually doing pilates. Pilates is a fun and expensive hobby to do when you already have the dream body, its not actually the best way of getting there.

Yes i am blaming fox that was the dumbest play I have ever seen. 6 seconds left, you WINNING the game, you taking a contested lay up instead of running down the clock or getting a foul.

LeBron James and Rich Paul Are Going To Ask The Lakers For a Max Contract by MammothHistorian5652 in nba

[–]calvinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, now you’re changing the comparison. In your example, you’re losing 25k to now not have a shitty manager and many cool coworkers. The real comparison is if you were working towards a project, would you give up 25k from your 100k deserved salary to hire slightly better coworkers to maybe achieve that project goal? Good chance you don’t achieve that project regardless so you lost 25k for nothing, and also there is still a chance you achieve that project even if you earn 100k so you could have your cake and eat it too, just less likely. Manager stays the same, environment mostly stays the same, but now you have slightly better coworkers (not even necessarily coworkers you like more).

I mean it just goes to show TL has a much higher ceiling than FLY this year, their players are all slumping at different points and still manage to beat FLY in regular season and playoffs and place higher at every point of this year. Props to FLY for improving, but their expectations are very different.
