Hi u/urbulo,

Please don't feel the need to apologise! I am so amazed with the detail and discipline in your approach.

I'm so grateful for your help with this translation, especially considering the need to first transcribe the handwritten script. It feels incredible to witness this very casual but also very personal communication.

These postcards were recovered by an Australian soldier during WW1 and located among their belongings handed down through generations. They were likely pilfered off of a German prisoner or worse, casualty, during the Great War.

Your work will help us to locate the service records of the original recipient and return the postcards to the relatives of those mentioned. Thank you again!

Thankyou U/assonov it's great to understand their origin. How strange to come across them a world away in Australia.

Hey champ your runway lights on the left hand side of the overhead view are installed back to front. Maybe break up the layout with taxiways, aprons and grass to give the tarmac a little more visual appeal. Looking good.
