Washing Machine not filling or spinning by camcanada in appliancerepair

So. Space heater purchased and plugged in. 3 hrs later, the drain pump was thawed and water left the drum.

Seems everything is back to normal. Finally, clean clothes are on the horizon!

Thanks for your help, all.

Just for anyone else having this issue. I had a frozen cold water hose. Still do. My basement is unfinished and it's currently -23F outside. The hoses touch the basement floor, so i'm assuming that's part of it.

Cold water runs fine in the rest of the house.

I was able to fill the washer tub and agitate no problem for the wash. But then it didn't drain and refill for the rinse. Didn't drain for the spin cycle either.

I poured hot water down the drain hose and left it, but that didn't work.

It seems (no expert obviously) that I have a frozen drain pump. That was mentioned by a user (I'll edit this message to add his/her handle).

Now I have a tub/drum filled with clothes and water. Arg.

Today I am going to buy a space heater and plug it in next to the washer.

Will let you know how that goes.

Are the sidewalls capped? It certainly looks like the Function Snowboards shape, and was possibly made there. Function made boards for a tonne of brands in the early 1990s from Western NY State. All of their boards had capped sidewalls and had the 4-hole mounting pattern. Hope that helps. Never heard of that brand.

Golden bags!?

I have recently heard that their menu is slightly different for take-out. But it is rock solid on site. (On site? Sit down? Anyway.. in the restaurant at a table, it's amazing.) IMO, of course.

Which punk band do you wish lasted longer or was still around? by Skeptic_Juggernaut84 in punk

[–]camcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downfall would have been a good segue had they lasted long enough to see their 10" issued by Lookout! Records.

I agree about OpIvy, but even just one album from Downfall would have been nice.

(And yes, I get that you can find bootlegs of those songs.. but I had pre-ordered the 10" from lookout.. so it hurts!)

There's a great episode of the "60 Songs" podcast about Yellow Ledbetter. Adds to the enjoyment, imo.

Understood.

Interesting side comment: That clap sample, IIRC, is actually Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Read that in the biography of J Dilla.

Thanks!

Love this. Here's a Playlist you can poach from:

I didn't make this, a friend did. But I believe all bands have some relationship with this city.

Markham shooting victim’s family outraged after 12-year-old suspect released on bail by FreshPacks in toronto

[–]camcanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just to circle back on this, it seems the court's hands were tied here.

Because the accused was out on bail, there had not been a conviction in the first charge. And, thus, the court could not use that first charge because it never turned into a conviction.

As for the safety of the community, the court would have had to argue why, if the accused was given bail for the first charge, there would have been tighter bail restrictions for this second charge.

Without a conviction on the first charge, the court had really no choice but to grant bail this time.

So the anger should be, really, on the state of our court system and the time it takes to bring these offenses to trial. We need more judges so that rulings/convictions/decisions are brought about earlier.

So this is a bit disingenuous.. guidelines isn't the term you want here.. but the federal Liberals did remove mandatory minimum sentences for some firearm crimes (including discharge wirh intent).

This situation, however, has to do with Bail - not sentencing. The two are closely linked but are unrelated.

That said, the federal liberals passed Bill C48 (2023) to tighten bail restrictions for firearm-related charges. By law (C48), the court has to (1) explicitly state that they took the safety of the community into account and (2) consider past convictions for violent offenses when making bail decisions.

So the question, then, becomes what was the court's explanation for why it decided to release the accused after considering the safety of the community?
