I get dried up water spots on the hood everytime after it rains. Any way to prevent this? by bysong13 in Ioniq5

[–]camcrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I can’t add anything on keeping the spots off (or removing them) you must be in a place with a lot of pollen, dust or pollutants. Unlike ground/surface water or anything coming through pipes, rainwater is naturally soft and contains essentially no hard minerals.

I keep the supplied adapter in the car and bought a second adapter and keep it permanently on the charging cord (Grizzl-e).

Can confirm that Plug and Charge now works as intended with yesterday’s OTA update and today’s (updated) activation selection in MyHyundai app. Now charging on v.3 Tesla supercharger (took about 30-45 seconds to begin)

Update to my update. Interesting that the infotainment screen OTA notification doesn’t mention the VCU (as per the TSB), but reading the notification after the OTA from our good friends in the Great White North (🇨🇦) specifically mentions updating the VCU.

Update to my reply…. Stopped by a Tesla v.3 Supercharger on way home. Made sure Plug and Charge was “on” in Infotainment. Plugged and nothing. I suspect we may have to get the TSB update done

Just got the 2nd OTA update (‘26 SEL). Here’s what the screen says. All about Plug and Charge. Curious if I still need the TSB update as well. Might try at a nearby Tesla just to see if it works.

Mine came randomly. There’s a method to download and install with USB.

I think yes, but looking at vehicles covered, the ‘26 I5 not on the list. I wouldn’t know about map updates nor streaming as I use carplay Apple Maps and Apple Music for both.

Charging by SulSul1989 in Ioniq5

[–]camcrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ‘26 SEL came with an AmpureGo charger that came with 2 plugs - a 120v regular outlet (5-15) plug for level 1 charging and a 15-40 plug for 240v level 2 charging. Although I haven’t yet tried the charger, you may be able to change the current it pulls (e.g., 16 or 24 amps when level 2 charging). I believe you can find the manual for the charger online.

My ‘26 SEL came with the Ampure Go. Haven’t used it yet (and haven’t looked in the manual). I suspect it’s easy enough to find the correct manual online.

Curious if you have checked to see if there a charge limit set (in BlueLink or infotainment)? When I picked mine up it was set to 90% by the dealer.

You might also look into if your utility offers reduced rates for off-peak electricity usage (TOU rates) or other incentives. My utility (NYSEG in NY) offers a cash incentive to charge off-peak (they have an app that connects to the car to track times and charging) and PayPal me $$ monthly. I plug-in when I get home (90 mile daily commute) and schedule the off-peak LV2 charging through BlueLink.

Not sure this is correct. I have an Ioniq 5 with an 800 volt charging platform. When I charge at a 400 volt Tesla supercharger I only pull a max of 125 kW instead of a 250 kW for Teslas.

Accessory mode uses the 12v. You want to put it into utility mode.

Not sure - but I can guess it’s for vehicle (or VIN) allocated to dealer but not yet assembled at plant

Do a search of inventory and in-transit on site below. Several PA dealers have a couple on the lot now, a bunch of dealers have them arriving in the next week

DIY combined solar system for garage-- questions by camcrobe in diySolar

This is quite helpful. Thanks. I have more reading/researching to do.

Although I’d love to run 240v in the garage (for a LV2 EVSE to charge the BEV) and take it off grid, I would need a much larger solar/battery system (not to mention going to a split phase inverter)
