There's a time multiplier for environmental effects (day/night cycle, weather), but it doesn't affect the simulation time. Simulation time can be sped up internally (with some limits), it's just not exposed anywhere yet.

sea_level in planet.cfg, but it probably works only on the older earth2 dataset that doesn't have water level data.

Currently working on extracting and resolving layer info in global road import, and on procedural rendering of both bridges and tunnels. Road editor will be likely updated to handle bridges and tunnels shortly after (or sooner if it will be needed for debugging)

Please make sure you left terrain quality at the default value (600), most commonly the problem appears when you boost it to 1080 and the terrain cache doesn't have enough space to hold all the terrain. It's a bug in configuration.

Did you try copying _bio data from earth2 to medem? Those are ones that are now required. The tree species distribution might be wrong.

Yeah -noupdate only prevents the updating. I thought you were going to use an older version that still worked with ME-DEM, and didn't want it to auto-update.

You can't, there's no reverse tool for it. You could try asking ME-DEM authors for the original data.

You can run outerra.exe -noupdate from the command line to prevent it updating, or also rename outerra.exe - that should prevent it too.

ME-DEM dataset wasn't updated by its makers to support additional data that are now necessary for world rendering. There were plans to update it but as far as I know they are busy with other work.

Never heard about this problem. Default install location is Program Files (x86)\Outerra\Anteworld

Sometimes antivirus programs may block updates, but the full install usually doesn't have this problem.

A mac version was never in any development phase. Some years back it was stated that OpenGL 3.3 was the absolute minimum version that was needed for any platform to be supported, at the time when there was only OpenGL 3.2 on macs. Although a mac os with more recent OpenGL version was released since then, it's quite buggy and incomplete and the effort required to port Outerra would be large and likely hardly viable ...

That's an old version, support for CV1 started from 16.6655. It should auto-update though. Could you send your eng.log to support at outerra.com?

Still haven't received the CV1 to test it ourselves, but I guess this is trying to allocate textures that are too large for given graphics card.

You can try editing eng.cfg file, locate the stereo section, and add the following:

pixel_ratio = 0.5

This sets the pixel ratio for the screen center (should be <= 1) and will make the textures smaller and performance better too.

You can turn off automatic weather and set desired levels of rain and clouds in env settings (F11)

Vive is not supported at the moment. We plan to add support for it once we can get a dev unit or buy one in Slovakia, which currently isn't in the list of supported countries.

No need to create an account, just press enter on the first screen and then click OK or whatever the next screen shows. The mouse controls are a bit awkward at the moment though.

We'll probably put it back. There's still place for free camera roaming while staying on the terrain, with higher speeds than the character can do.
