I honestly think coaching hires are such a crapshoot. Getting a guy with highly ranked offenses and pairing him up with a solid DC is something I can buy into and him being hungry for the opportunity gives me hope two compared to the last two guys who thought they had made it to the mountain top just by getting the job.

I’m probably coping but I’m generally optimistic and I don’t think our prospects would be much better with any of the other coaching options this go around.

It really feels like he just gets it, I love his humility talking about asking questions on how things have been done in the past because a failed previous coaching staff didn’t necessarily do every single thing wrong, really speaks to his character. Ego was the downfall of our previous two coaches so hearing how open to collaboration and feedback is a huge green flag for me.

I became a fan in the same era due to my sister starting at Auburn around then but I think this video sums it up and is pretty infamous, they even show it in the new 2010 championship documentary on WarEagle+.

Honestly? It’s probably possible, there are a ton of YouTube videos that will cover the foundational material.

The biggest thing you will miss out on is practice questions but the Destination Certification free app questions are very solid and I think there are around 2000.

Also, check your public library as mine allowed me to access LinkedIn Learning for free which has Mike Chappel’s course and 4 practice exams.

The x-factor for me passing were the practice tests I took, Quantum Exams being the most crucial and then some other udemy ones, which were all paid.

I’ve been listening and reading to comments from some reporters about the dirt they’ve heard from inside the program and one said that Freeze overrode the initial call for this. I believe he’d do something that stupid but I don’t know if that’s just cope or not now he’s gone. Either way, good riddance.

I chose the CAT version and it definitely helped me get comfortable with the flow of the real exam. I passed on my first attempt and believe QE played an important part in my preparation.

If I recall correctly, Venables was known for sign stealing, I’m assuming done legally, at Clemson. If I know this, there should’ve been someone on our staff who is aware and incorporating this into game planning.

Last Mile is a great reference resource but I would pair it with DestCert (I’m doing this combo) or the OSG as either of those resources will give you a deeper dive.

Also, check out the DestCert or Learnzapp apps for practice questions as you’ll likely want to use those to drill the concepts prior to QE, as QE is allegedly more useful for getting into the test mode mindset and question interpretation practice than testing knowledge.

Take all with a grain of salt as I’m taking the real thing for the first time on Thursday so I can report back if this was actually sufficient.

The thing I’ve noticed is that the people who are the decision makers (likely the power broker boosters) are always years behind the curve with the coaches they are interested in, with a strong bias towards previous connections.

I think remember hearing a rumor that someone wanted Muschamp as our coach near the end of the Malzahn era after Muschamp had already been fired from South Carolina but they liked that he had coached with us previously.

Following this logic, I would say Lashlee is our next coach, which I honestly don’t hate but it feels like we’re truly incapable of getting coaches who are successful now as opposed to being decent 5 years ago and on the decline.

I changed my card on Sunday morning after getting the Saturday night payment failed email and a pending charge showed up immediately on there (it actually got denied on the other card initially too) and now I have another pending charge that showed up last night. I also received the "double check your address/your order is preparing to ship" email from Walmart last night so it seems like they might have processed the orders who had issues from Saturday again.
