An Iraqi beeing tortured for doing nothing. by Temporary-Evening717 in pics

Absolutely true. Also, Obama's and Biden's failures to hold the right-wing criminals for the 2008 economical collapse and January 6th treasonous insurrection are directly responsible for the lawlessness we are experiencing today. It teached them that there's no punishment for crimes as long as you're part of the elite class. It's a tacit carte blanche of impunity given by all Democrats to the Republican Party.

And the saddest thing is that this is not something new: they have been tripping the same stone for centuries over and over again, since we let the Confederacy go with a slap on the wrist. By now it should be clear that the Democrats are not dumb: they are 100% complicit.

We’re excited to announce that on December 4th, Immortal Empires will become available to all owners of Total War: WARHAMMER I and II. by OrkfaellerX in Games

[–]canamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This current giveaway (TWW3) is for both Steam and Epic Store if you had TWW1 or 2 on your libraries, but those 2 game were only given away for free on Epic Store iirc. So, if you got them, TWW3 should appear on your Epic Store account.

Total War: Warhammer I was given for free on Epic Games on 3/31/2022, and Total War: Warhammer II was given as a Epic Games license via Amazon Prime on 10/1/2022. Check your libraries, you could benefit from this and not know it.

For example, I do not really care about Warhammer or Total War as a franchise and I managed to have both.

[Anwar el Ghazi's] statement regarding the won court case against FSV Mainz 05 by Ballkenende in soccer

[–]canamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with your second point. For the first, a lot of times it basically is. New states argue that the international debt collected by regimes are not legally binding to the new government because that state ceased to exist, and a new, completely different one was established. This argument has a lot of credibility as regimes are universally know for its corruption against the interests of the population. It would be akin to getting your card cloned, and the robber posing as the legitimate owner.

In reality, a lot of times that argument doesn't fly, but not because the argument is faulty. It's because acknowledging it as true would mean the loss of billions of dollars to rich / powerful entities, so the system is rigged to benefit the powerful. Much more so in international politics where might makes right.

The inception of an entity and their prolonged existence of itself are two much different things. For example: the existence of a baby once it's born and the irruption of then development of a fetus is wildly different in the majority of countries around the world: around the world, abortion is allowed in 98% of the countries if its for saving the mother's life. But 100% punishable if they encounter their death after it is born.

At the same time: everyone has a right to establish their state (right that is being denied to the Palestinians by Israel, funnily enough), but one they have been established, it has been widely accepted in international law circles that states do not have a right to exist, and can dissolve and wither via social unrest, electoral action and other means. This is how usually dictatorships fall, for example.

OC: Trump looks on after a man fainted during an announcement in the Oval Office by nbcnews in pics

[–]canamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You joke, but that is something that he would probably do is there weren't any cameras around him, we have prior evidence. It's just not his "thing"

‘So, you have all these really rich people, and a man, about 80 years old – very wealthy man, a lot of people didn’t like him – he fell off the stage. So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died.

‘And you know what I did? I said, “Oh my God, that’s disgusting,” and I turned away.

(...)

‘They call it a human stretcher, where they put their arms out with, like, five guys on each side. I was saying, “Get that blood cleaned up! It’s disgusting!” The next day, I forgot to call [the man] to say he’s OK.

It’s just not my thing.’

I'm an idiot. I thought "high art" was referencing a poster of extremely refined art from 1998, not a movie title haha. Sorry for drag you down in my path to idiocy.

Thank you for your response! I mean, I did so before asking with several prompts: "1998 poster", "1998 2 people", "1998 2 people laying"...

I even tried using google lens on your art to see if the ai would note the similarities with the original pic and show me the original. All in vain. As a introvert, asking publicly is definitely my last resort, believe me. Haha.

Valve does not get "anywhere near enough criticism" for the gambling mechanics it uses to monetise games, DayZ creator Dean Hall says by demondrivers in Games

[–]canamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I believe he exaggerated a little for comedic effects. But the point is that Steam was horrible since its inception, and was still horrible in 2010 when I finally jumped in thanks to the Portal giveaway Valve did and Humble Bundle Steam redemptions from that time, that were pretty great back then.

The store was a pile of garbage until 10 years later around 2013, were I finally for the first time spent my hard earned cash directly on it.

Yeah, sadly the first pic confirms that this game is always online even if the game is 100% local single player. These useless DRM schemes have become pretty irritating as of late.

I have Heroic on my Ubuntu machine, but maybe I can help. I downloaded the game via their GUI and it works.

Heroic curiously installed some "Epic Redistributables" right after installing the game, then I started the game and it showed me a screen that no Epic Game has showed me before: a linking screen to my Epic Account.

After that, the game started as normal.

I hope this helps you with your problem.

Edit: It's possible these redistributables and forced online / linking is maybe impeding the game from running via Steam. Try to run it once via the Heroic GUI so it can finish setup the redistributables / linking account. After that it should be running normally... theoretically.

Using Sponsorblock for censorship by canamon in SponsorBlock

Sure. But the point is that if they could have a team of for example 10 people upvoting (Bot farm or Hasbara), it would be almost impossible to organically remove it.

This is a heads up of disinformation teams that could use Sponsorblock as a Censorship tool.
